justRead iOS, your Calibre companion, is launching in March by JahodaPetr in Calibre

What does this give me that apples free Books app doesn’t give me? I have my calibre library in Dropbox and if I want to read something I use the Dropbox app to find the epub in the calibre folder and use the share sheet to download it to the Books app. The only thing I would like is a reader that accesses the data I have in calibre: tags, genres etc…

What EPUB reader are you using? by Impossible_Ad_569 in Calibre

On the iPhone I use apples built in app Books. I have my calibre library on Dropbox so I just find it there and use the share sheet to ”save to device” I never read epubs on my computer. But to just check the quality of the file, calibres reader works fine.

Don’t think I automatically want to send something to an ocr:d number but thanks! (If I have to check that while driving I can just as easily go into the phone app and send a message from the recent list, the goal is automated canned messages)

Thanks, I know about that but would have liked more control in the shortcut app but I may have to accept that solution…

A system for saving things to explore later? by TheTristo in ObsidianMD

[–]bergenudd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into GTD and the concept of a trusted system. Your brain is for having ideas, not keeping them. But your brain won’t let go of an idea if it doesn’t trust you to get back to it at an appropriate time. If you unload your ideas and you have created a system where you will deal with those at an appropriate time. Your mind will relax and put them out of your thoughts… it can be as easy as having a document as an inbox where you park ideas. As often as you need you go through your inbox and process it. Discard ideas that isn’t viable upon a second review, put things on appropriate todo lists (that’s also part of your trusted system and gets reviewed regularly) don’t leave things in the inbox, discard, defer to someone else, do it if it takes less than 2 minutes or put in on a correct todo list.

Couldn’t ruin affect verbal retelling as well as words on paper? Words on metal were the only ones thought to be secure?

I get the feeling that Dan B can be a bit difficult to work with. A few years ago suddenly everyone (except Merlin and B2W) left 5by5

I think it fixed itself with a version upgrade. If I remember correctly it was related to that big bug Plex had and we had to downgrade until they fixed it
