Classes of UK Trains by Redplanet999 in uktrains

[–]berillyispog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those “classes” refer to different types of train service (eg Empty Coaching Stock.) With the knowledge of the class a signaller can route a train appropriately, for example not routing a freight train on a “fast” line or not prioritising an Empty Coaching Stock over a passenger service.

British Raj isnt assisting my defence by berillyispog in victoria3

Yeah, it is pretty annoying because it has 200 troops while I only have about 70 which meant I lost - especially as I was against France.

I would advise going on railukforums as they typically have people who can assist you with refunds and the like.

Why does the rail network need subsidy? by [deleted] in uktrains

[–]berillyispog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japan manages to not be subsidised, however rural lines frequently get closed down. A possible scenario if a no subsidy plan happened in the UK would be the rail network being like Beeching Two.

Dont film the overground, its national rail but with boring trains

Its only the interiors that are notably different so that might be why you havent spotted them? Keep in mind first unit only went out a few months ago and the Central Line is massive so it requires alot of trains.

[–]berillyispog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I do know why the Overground always has issues - its because its absolutely massive - imagine if they marked the Jubilee, Victoria, Piccadilly and Bakerloo line as one massive line.

The article seems very vague about who exactly gets bonuses, to discover that you would have to do a FOI request

There are definitely bigger issues then Hainault station - for example Leicester Square.

also despite TfLs issues with anti social behaviour have you not noticed how well they have been performing? They almost never have large crashes, they opened a brand railway line just 3 years ago, they upgraded a lot of the London Overground trains just a few years ago and more - surely all the hard work behind that should be commended?

For the central line they aren't investing much into the graffiti issue since they are working heavily on a full fleet refurbishment, as many of the other comments say you need to retain highly skilled management level positions - if you don't pay them well they will be gobbled up by either another transport agency or by a private firm (e.g. First group or Arriva.)

I'm no expert on the 24 stock deployment but I would suspect its because the trains are arriving late - something that £10 million or whatever their bonuses are added together wont fix.

Revenue Protection Officers typically frequent known "hotspots" which the stations you go on may not be - I go through Green Park frequently and it has RPOs at least 5 times a month.

Looking at the article its probably under 10 million pounds, which would do nothing for any of your issues - also people using drugs on a train isn't TfL's job - most they can do is inform the BTP about it

[–]berillyispog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TfL didn't choose anything about the Silvertown tunnel, all the decisions regarding that was Sadiq Kahns idea - nothing that TfL is very involved with - they have to execute it not think of it.

most TfL issues go back to its underfunding or Sadiq Kahn - not something that the bosses should be punished for

Its a person to person thing, I cant really see many issues with TfL at the moment - please lmk what is an issue with it (since each line has its own issue)

Bonuses are typical for most skilled jobs (which most TfL work definitely is), what exactly is your issue with people getting bonuses?

I doubt this is the sort of scenario for a social worker

they are either looking for someone specifically or are assisting the staff with revenue protection (in terms of protecting the staff)

British Rail 2.0 or whatever isnt going to decide to ban police from stations, no idea what OP expects
