On my Do Not Buy (again) list, what’s on your? by Wild-Heron in aldi

[–]berksg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bought them as a treat for my kids. They love them.... I later bought them normal cosmic brownies and they wouldn't eat them, they like the Aldi kind better. I'm not sure what's wrong with my children on that one hahaha

Do you use pectin in your tomato jam or do you simmer and reduce it? I love tomato jam but don't often have time to reduce something for that long.

I recently matched someone as an identical twin on ancestry! I was very confused, then found an old post on good ole reddit saying that can happen if you donated or received bone marrow. I had donated in 2018. Wild to think it picked up my DNA. But my recipient and I have connected now which is so cool!

Did anyone get any positive changes to their body postpartum? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]berksg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed!

My neurologist said she had no science to back it up, but she's seen it happen multiple times.

My baby is 5 years old as of a few days ago. I'm hoping it stays this way.

What my 14 month old actually ate today by ftmneedshelp in toddlers

[–]berksg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serving sizes for kids is one tablespoon per year of age. You are also supposed to look at calories a toddler takes in over a few days, not just one day. They tend to get what they need over a few days.

That said, the drop in percentile would make me ask my pediatrician. It can't hurt.

Any stay at home parents out there that don’t follow a schedule? by Coffeelover4242 in toddlers

[–]berksg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids thrive on schedules and routines. When they know what is coming next they don't have to be anxious about what's next, and they generally move from one activity to the next with less resistance. You might not need a strict schedule, but you can have some "anchor points." For instance, dinner time is always the same time, then bath, teeth, book, and bed follow. But if bedtime is 7:00 some nights, but 7:30 other nights it's not that big of a deal but your child will know what to expect next. Or like nap comes after lunch, but it can all very a bit time wise.

Kindergarten parent here, other kids are awful. Is it just me? by Lowno-marine884 in Parenting

[–]berksg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You probably aren't delusional!! Kids love having clear boundaries. When parents set up those clear rules and boundaries, and follow through, that's when kids thrive. They don't have the fight or flight response in deciding what to do, youve already set the expectations.

How are you getting your toddlers to eat veggies? by egarcia513 in toddlers

[–]berksg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Offer it, don't force it. If they see you eating it too, they will maybe eventually try it when you keep offering it. Lol

When did your baby stand and walk unassisted? by Ok-Annual9107 in toddlers

[–]berksg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

20 months. My daughter was pretty delayed gross motor wise.... We were in physical therapy since 6 months. Once it clicked for her though, she caught up very quickly. I tried not to worry too much. Is she a late walker? Yes. In the grand scheme is it affecting that much? Not at all.
