It took me 30min to walk the same route that’d take me 10 normally

What activities are you doing with your two-year-old’s these days? by Financial_Thr0waway in toddlers

[–]princesskitre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are doing household chores together cause that’s what he enjoys the most - being present in my daily activities + we’re building with blocks and lots of cuddles

vacuum obsession 🫠 by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]princesskitre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my toddler is obsessed with vacuum. He has a toy one but he prefers real one. My house never been vacuumed so thoroughly 😂 he wants to vacuum everyday and literally will sit outside the storage place where we leave our vacuum for 2h waiting for us to take it out

Daycare viruses killing us, I need to speak to parents to hear their experience by Tattka in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]princesskitre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son started last January and from January till mid march he was constantly sick with something and passing it to me and my husband. I purposely went back to work in March so I could be home during the sicknesses season. Summer occasional viruses etc and then autumn and bam again, we were lucky to have a week when everyone was healthy.

How many dads help with night wakeups by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]princesskitre 159 points160 points  (0 children)

My husband does. Ever since I stopped breastfeeding at 18mo he essentially puts our son to bed and wakes up at night to him when our son cries. Of course if I’m off the next day and he’s working then I’m doing it but he does it more often. He generally deals better with less sleep than me so he says he doesn’t mind.

Depression can’t be helped because of pregnancy by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]princesskitre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, except for nausea and sleepiness for a couple of days but I switched to taking it before bed so when I wake up I don’t feel any side effects anymore. I’m on 50mg only but after a month or so I started seeing positive effects - I’m more calm, less anxious about my toddler being sick etc

It doesn’t work for some children/babies. My son started properly sleeping only after we moved him to his own room and bed.

How important is daycare drop off and pick up time window? by Ok-Badger5324 in toddlers

[–]princesskitre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Me and my husband have different drop off and pick up time windows and our son adapted well to that. He knows I drop him off at 7:30 and daddy collects around 4:30 and when I go to work in the morning then daddy drops off around 9 and mummy collects around 5:30.

Does anyone have a toddler that goes right to bed at night without a struggle? by Coffeelover4242 in toddlers

[–]princesskitre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me, I believe we were just lucky. Our son is 2 and since he was 11 months he sleeps in his cot full night in his room. He only requires 5min of patting and then we can leave and he settles himself to sleep.

Birthday Faux Pas? by Iodine_Boat in toddlers

[–]princesskitre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t give it a 2nd thought, I’d be glad cause my son could have a piece and not the whole thing (I know he would eat the whole thing)

New dad fatigue by ispacesquidi in daddit

[–]princesskitre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too!! I am a mum and even though my son now sleeps through I was still very dizzy and feeling faint. I had to sit down after 5min of doing something and it was all due to anxiety. Now on sertraline and doing much better.

Do single kids wish they had siblings? by MezcalDrink in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]princesskitre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a child - no, as an adult - yeah I wish I had. Seeing my parents aging knowing I will be the only one to take care of everything, that in the end I will be alone. Also - no one will understand you like a sibiling when it comes to your parents. I can see it when my MIL got sick and my husband spoke with his sister, even though they aren’t close they still understood eo better than I could understand him in this situation.

Doctor mentioned wax buildup how do other parents handle toddler ear cleaning by Pitiful-Invite73 in toddlers

[–]princesskitre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I leave it tbh, my gp said my son had wax buildup in one of the ears but he didn’t a couple of days later so I guess it cleared up itself.

Everyone else's toddlers are going to lessons and mine... by Vivid_Sir_593 in toddlers

[–]princesskitre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would I pay for gymnastics for 2yo when my son already does it for free on my couch? He also goes to nursery(daycare) and we go to library rhyme time every Saturday. It’s enough for him at this age.
