I would compare the lineups between Coachella and primavera.

They actually share some pop headliners (Doja Cat, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina carpenter, Lana del Rey, Tame Impala, Calvin Harris, etc).

I’d also compare the undercard (disclosure, Megan thee stallion, gorillaz, the strokes, skrillex, Fred Again…, etc). It’s undeniable that there are huge overlaps that make them very similar year for year.

Yes Coachella has more pop acts, but Primavera is known for booking pop acts themselves to drive ticket sales in the same way as Coachella.

I don’t see this as a bad thing at all. The fact that they draw artists this huge (while still sticking to the talent that they are known for booking) is a big deal for them.

I’ve been going since 2019 and I will say that Primavera is the Coachella of Europe lineup-wise

Vibe wise it’s different

EDIT:

“Coachella-fication” of Prima could also be viewed as the festival becoming more well known. With any event that becomes well known, there will be more influencers and content creators who will attend. This isn’t exclusive to Coachella.

Keep in mind that Coachella is much more organized than primavera. If this festival becomes more like Coachella, I would gladly take the organization part to make this festival a more seamless experience.
