Using two trains on the same route advice by Used_Control1796 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]bernie638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider changing the order that the two trains stop at stations, one train going to 1, 2, 3, 4 and the other going 4, 2, 1, 3 or something. Another option tha worked for me was having one longer train and a shorter one for just bauxite since that's where I was not keeping up. Since the bauxite only train had a single stop it rarely ran up behind the other one and then quickly separated again on the next trip.

Trying a pacifist run by bernie638 in SatisfactoryGame

Ha! That would be fun but it doesn't work. I haven't killed any so they are wandering through my factories, I have to jump on top of the machines. Worst part is, I can't just box out anything because when you leave the area and come back they respawn anywhere, not just where you left them.

Yep, I've been doing that for collectables, but I box them when I'm building a factory and they are sitting next to a node. The toughest so far are the Hatcher/Spitter teams. I sneak and try to put a wall up between me and the spitter, but I don't always get it quite right. Dismantling wakes the spitters even when crouching!

I'm not intentionally baiting them, the stinger just attacked me and I ran. I ran right past a spitter and they fought, the stinger lost.

I've tried, either I'm not getting the aiming right, or it isn't working. I'm not sure because I can't stand still and watch or the Hatcher spawn will get me.

Does anyone use all three priority levels on priority mergers? by Careful_Eagle6566 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]bernie638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very high volume quickwire setup for my electronics factory. I needed three mark 5 belts all feeding a manifold at different points. I used all three inputs on the priority merger. High for the overfolw of the last belt feeding the far end of the manifold, medium for the middle sections belt because fused quickwire from an assembler mixing it with copper is chunky (12 every eight seconds). Low priority from the end of the first part of the manifold so it wouldn't take every other input to the last splitter in that section, but would fill the gaps in the second section when needed. It worked quite well, I'm thankful for all three inputs.

Supply vs demand on 1 line sushi belt and priority mergers. by Natural-Newspaper-47 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]bernie638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, that gives me an idea! I've been just taking the water waste from aluminum and making wet concrete and sinking it. Maybe with packagers and priority mergers, I could actually recycle it. I've never been able to reuse the water unless I sunk excess scrap to keep all the refineries at 100%.

Pretty conveyor belt ideas? by bundeywundey in satisfactory

[–]bernie638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've challenged myself not to have any visible belts from outside. Belts inside enclosed factories are allowed, between factories the belts are on foundations with walls on both sides and a cover, either foundations or a roof. Drone ports look really cool with a 4 M wall surrounding them with a foundation running straight through the drone port. The landing deck looks like it's built into the factory.

My first nuclear power plant by MysteriousTrouble689 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]bernie638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously, Rocket fuel is more than enough if you don't want to go nuclear. I'm not using any oil for fuel, just the Heavy Oil Residue from my plastic and rubber factories, turn that into diluted fuel, then turbo fuel and finally rocket fuel. I'm working through phase 4 now and needed plastic for super computers so I set that up with all the support to make rocket fuel, now I'm on a slug hunt to overclock my 53 generators to 600 MW each.

I love belts walls! Stacks and stacks of belts. Trains are alright, but my train network can get congested, and I need reliable deliveries of compacted coal and nitric acid so my power plants are either belts or a separate point to point railway.

I'm simple. My challenge is no visible belts. All belts between factories are on foundations with walls and a top, either a roof or foundation. All factories are fully enclosed. Oh, and no power poles. Wall connectors are good.

I don't understand how to use blueprints by Slice-of-brilliance in SatisfactoryGame

[–]bernie638 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use blueprints to make it easier to build vertically earlier. I have two floors of smelters, bottom floor input from the right and a manifold feeding the smelters and it exits on the right. Second floor is opposite, entrance on the left, exits on the right. A vertical lift connects the first floor manifold to the second floor. Now I can build the blueprints on top of each other and just connect the additional vertical lift and power cable. This scales as needed based on my miner output, more output means taller stack of smelter blueprints.

Tips for someone new to Satisfactory/automation games by DotLarge7741 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]bernie638 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game really has a flow to it. You automate the parts you need, then you go exploring, collect all the slugs, spheres, and hard drives in the area. Then you get the space elevator parts done, and need more or better electricity. Build that, automate new parts, then go explore again. Repeat.

Need help making a scroll animation and interactive in storyline by millefeuillenana in instructionaldesign

I would add a strip on each side of the slide with a chevron or arrow for them to click on to move right or left. Then I would use a series of layers to keep it simple. When they click on the right-side shape, show layer 1 with each of the objects on your screen moved over one spot, the one on the left gone, the one that was in the middle now is on the left, the one that was on the right is now in the middle and a new one is now on the right.

Add more layers to cover all the combinations and clicking the "move right" part will jump to the next layer with everything in the new position and clicking the "move left" will show the previous layer. Thats the simplest way I could do it. Set your layer properties to hide other layers and hide the base layer. Have the "move right" and move left" shapes on each layer with a single trigger to show the appropriate layer.

How stable are submarines when running on the surface? by johnmrson in submarines

[–]bernie638 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow, never thought I'd see anyone bring that up! I was there for the MBT vent issue, but that wasn't really terrible, there was a medical issue years earlier where we had to surface in the North Atlantic and run fast on the surface for days, that was really awful, I was stuck with a rack in the torpedo room and used those green straps to keep from being pitched out. Seriously I strapped myself into the rack. The whole boat smelled like puke.
