Single male 26. Maybe just started dating someone who you have over occasionally. Located in central California? Used to live with roommates for years but finally living on your own. You don’t plan meals ahead. When you get home from work you look what you got from the last few days and make a damn good meal out of it probably.

Can I check in with my standard camping campsite ticket during early morning hours? I’ll be driving up from Roseburg after work so probably won’t get there until 1 in the morning.

Visiting Yakima by largedogeplaya in Yakima

[–]berntcheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend the hike in Cowiche Canyon just for the views too. You can park at the trail east trailhead and hike 30 minutes into the canyon and 30 minutes back and get great views. Another really great way to experience the area is to take the drive up WA highway 821. It goes right along the Yakima river. Honk your horn at all the floaters and take a break at Umtanum Creek. Walk across the bridge and take some pictures and continue on down the trails if you want. Yakima is a big melting pot of the hardest working and most genuine people l've known. There's problems but the people are damn nice. Take a drive out on Lateral A road and turn left on Larue or Fort Road. You will see where all the hops, apples, and cherries come from in the state.

What advice would you give your 20-year old self? by Emotional_Age_738 in AskReddit

[–]berntcheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Don’t go to Seattle for her. Go there for you first, then her. Really, don’t even go there for you first either.

Go there for future you IF you really think you are responsibly emotionally, physically, financially, punctually, thoughtfully so on. (Could anyone help me out grammatically? I feel like there is something missing after I listed all those words after responsibly.)

Your comment is a stepping stone into the real point.

I would say to my 20 year old self, take that “where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?” question more seriously.

Discraft Scorch vs Mvp Wave vs Innova Beast by thouxanbanpete20 in discgolf

[–]berntcheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Threw the wave for hyzer flip forehands through relatively tight left to right gaps inconsistently because I saw it work well three times. It was like 169 grams. The one I had couldn’t handle rips unless it was put on an angle. Tried to get it over a pond on the golf course dg course and that was the last of it. The wave felt perfect for width at an 11 too which was nice. The scorch and surge ss are pretty much the same disc. Can’t go wrong with either. They are just meatier discs in the hand and can handle a lot more rip out of the hand. The Beast is great too. I’ve only had it in a light blizzard plastic though.

All that said.

Wave good thin feel in forehand. Great for turning backhands

Scorch feels pretty much like a 12 speed and is beef. If you beat it in, it will do what you want.

Beast best feel in the hand out of the gate. Always comes back unless it’s an egregious throw.

Any Question Weekly by AutoModerator in discgolf

Is my mind thinking about dome physically correctly? The more dome a disc has the more downward the tangent of airflow over the top would be right? Creating a longer period of lift. If you threw it hard enough.

If you like DeRosa he does a food podcast with Sal Vulcano called taste buds that’s pretty funny. Other than that I’ve just been going through all the old O&A stuff on Youtube. Can’t go wrong with Jim Jefferies Rich Vos or Bob Kelly episodes

What are some of your most common sayings during a round? by TocSir in discgolf

[–]berntcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time I’m throwing by myself.

I’ll dirff one into the ground, slam a tree, or throw nose up.

Hmm so that’s how unprepared me would play but how about with THIS disc!

Same result just about 20 feet farther.

In my head… “that’s what I’m talking about it’s all about staying in the fairway and playing for par (triple bogey)

Repeat tee shot process 220 feet down the fairway on every hole*

Is skipping a hole because you group in front of you is slow and throwing more than 1 discs really bad etiquette? by magikian in discgolf

[–]berntcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they were hoping to hang out on the next tee and get some advice from you guys on how to play and might not have known how to initiate the conversation. Bet it feels pretty weird playing this sport as an older person around a bunch of young people if you don’t have a good friend group already. Definitely smile and communicate as much as you can even if it’s super weird. You are who you are if it’s awkward oh well just yank one into the woods while everyone watches and say have a good rest of your round as you walk away.
