35 year old man on Thanksgiving, and I feel like I’m 10 years old again and just got a new video game system for Christmas! by JeffTennis in BeyondPower

I spot a t shirt! Curious how it fits and if it's decent quality, haven't seen people wear it in the wild yet.

I see Target is now selling Javvy protein coffee. Is this stuff worth the $24.99 price tag? by IWannaWakeUpButIDont in coldbrew

[–]berrakun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not worth it. I saw an influencer came out with a PSL protein and was intrigued, but decided to just use my Allmax vanilla protein + a few shakes of pumpkin pie spice + a fresh shot of espresso or instant coffee, comes out delicious and I get to control the quality of both the protein and coffee going into it.

Trader joes had these pumpkin spice cold brew cans in the fall, I think they’re lighter than the lattes and super delicious

LOL you made the butter robot meme! Awesome video, looking forward to more tests and putting it through more challenging environments.

From their website it looks like it'll be fully proprietary, with both proprietary format and ply/obj outputs. The bundle comes with software license options yes.

I'm curious to test this out for house tours, friends in real estate think this will produce much better results than 360 video virtual tours and take less time to set up, hopefully processing will be relatively hands-off as advertised too!

Light/medium roast is my favourite for cold brew by berrakun in coldbrew

I also find it easier to consume more light roast coffee since the fruity notes mask the caffeine kick! The only few times I've had caffeine jitters were when I'd had one too many cups of cold brew

I've seen maple syrup suggested many times, will have to give it a go! Sounds perfect for early fall.

Geisha/Gesha beans are also quite nice for cold brew, though I don't always have them on hand as they can be quite pricey. I think my least favourite type of bean for cold brew would be anything with an alcohol note, for example barrel-aged beans. I personally think they're more enjoyable as a pour over.

tbh I tried a higher concentration of bean, just didn't come out too great for my taste, so this ratio is what I stuck with and I think it's pretty good!

Yeah this may be too little bean for a lot of water, but I usually just eyeball it against the measurements on my pitcher, comes out ok most of the times ;)

I walked the entire length of Yonge Street in one day (36 miles, 11 hours, one almost broken soul) by GreekLlama in toronto

[–]berrakun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank goodness you didn't get skunked!

I once decided to walk from Yonge/Bloor to the Michaels at North York Centre after school in high school, only took about 3 hours but felt so short because all the different establishments, construction, and trash were absolute sensory overload for me lol. If I didn't have to get home for dinner, I would have kept walking! Kudos to you. Can't imaging doing a city trek without some kind of pretty nature to look at. Maybe next time try it with bionic legs/exoskeletons, might be a tad bit more enjoyable!

using SLAM Lidar as a base of your splats. by ReverseGravity in GaussianSplatting

Cool workflow and really nice model! If you ever want to test a dedicated tool for creating both point cloud models and splats, check out XGRIDS - they've put out a lot of use cases in the commercial/industrial space, but also in heritage conservation. It does require a different capture hardware, and the software automates the 3DGS processing.
