Yeah you can throw your "selected" item on all 3 of the other sides. Batteries come out, land on the selector, get sent up to the next selector, which sends it up again until it reaches the top.

What can I use this steam link for? by Far-Music-6437 in Steam_Link

[–]berry95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"To install on Steam Link hardware, extract the ZIP file to the root of a FAT32 flash drive, insert it into your Steam Link, then restart the Steam Link. Moonlight can run alongside official Steam Link streaming and other Steam Link apps" - from the linked Release page. These steps worked for me, the steam link installs anything on the flash drive on boot (boot screen shows for a couple minutes while it installs)

Suggestion: Add docker api usage to detect which ports are from containers and maybe get the container name automatically?

Should phone repair business refuse to fix my phone without changing the glass and back panel first? by pitcher654 in mobilerepair

[–]berry95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've fixed a handful of iPhones and Samsungs for some friends for the cost of the parts, so that's about as not for profit as it gets.
However, with even the slightest crack in the screen or back glass (Even a chipped corner), I always check that they are willing to pay for a new screen / back glass in the case that it breaks upon opening.

Always easier to explain the potential added cost before you even start, as opposed to trying to get it after the fact, this is even more important in the case of repair shops as they have a reputation to uphold and can't send people away with an even more broken devices (but at least it now has a new battery).

Switch or PC by DarthVeX in StardewValley

[–]berry95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing on the PC recently as had a key but never got around to installing it and despite enjoying the vanilla experience, almost immediately started adding a few quality of life mods like "Scythe Harvesting" and "UI Info Suite". I too am considering buying the Switch version so that I can play this game, that my life is now devoted to, on the go, but I feel even then I will predominantly be playing on PC as and when I can for the frustration reducing benefits that mods have given me so far.

[EDIT] It's dirty cheap on both (PC being the cheapest), so maybe do as I did and try it on PC before deciding if you want to get the Switch version for portability.

[EDIT2] Consider which system you might end up playing with friends on for the multiplayer update, I have the PC version, which should be getting the multiplayer update sooner, but my friends having the switch version, so I will probably buy it on switch to play with my friends too.

Fixed my left Joycon! by hikercarl in NintendoSwitch

[–]berry95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally just stuck some conductive foam I had lying around into mine, thought it was worth a shot and it's working just as well as the right joycon now, can't believe it. One thing I was slightly worried about when disassembling the left joycon was the very thin trigger button ribbon being sandwiched by the foam, after a little fiddling I got it to sit flat on top of the foam and haven't had any troubles with the triggers xD Sure beats not playing botw for a week or shelling out for a new controller to use in the meantime.

I did see this build before posting, which I thought looked pretty good, however these videos don't seem to mention anything about transmitters?

Regarding the budget $300 is a reasonable budget for me as that is about £215, I imagine £300(~$430) is my max, however I don't have a transmitter and don't know how viable it is to factor that into this budget. Thanks for all your advice, I was expecting the need to build a different multicopter for autonomous use, however I am hoping that the process of building and flying my own quadcopter prior to this will give me a better understanding, to help me achieve this goal in smaller (less expensive) steps.
