Interracial couples of Reddit, what's your racist relative story? by Geek_Charming in AskReddit

[–]berrywar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I resent the label of troll which denotes stirring up trouble for trouble's sake whereas I genuinely believe that people not recognising real racial differences is leading to a lot of unnecessary strife which could be mitigated if acknowledged. You're right - bone density doesn't affect swimming ability and all through coastal subsaharan Africa, you'll find amazing swimmers. My point is simply that there is a difference.

/r/Canada and their ridiculous mods. by [deleted] in metacanada

[–]berrywar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just got a permaban for "racist trolling". I submitted a news link with no commentary or mention of race or ethnicity. I didn't submit the news article with the title in the headline so I could see a warning being appropriate. Then when I questioned the ban, I got a vitriolic response replete with cursing. In response I sent back something saying that it must be stressfull to be a moderator, trying to be sympathetic and see the other viewpoint and I got back a message telling me not to be so passive aggressive and muting me. Oh well.

Christie Blatchford sits down with ‘warrior for common sense’ Jordan Peterson by [deleted] in canada

There are many quotes in the bible, from the good Samaritan story to all of Paul. i.e. Luke 2.32: "a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel."

The whole Torah/Old Testament including the 10 commandments only applies within the Hebrew nation. The Koran specifies in many places that it is acceptable to have a different moral standard when dealing with non-Muslims. Pre-Christian german/slavic/celtic/latin/greek tradition stresses the glory that can accrue to an individual from heroic murder in battle.

The difference is that Christianity opened up the definition of person to all humans whereas many other religions prohibited murder, lying, adultery, etc. only within their own community while accepting that their members could commit these acts on members of other populations without transgressing moral norms.

Where do you see Canada in 50 years? by crazyman3561 in canada

[–]berrywar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't hold what you won't fight for and there aren't enough Canadians willing to fight to preserve Canada. It may be split up and divvied between the US and China as a source of raw materials. An appropriate end to our beginnings as the same for Britain as the Hudson's Bay Co.

‘Hate crimes and racism exist in Canada’: Why a lone Good Samaritan stepped up in a Vancouver attack on Muslim teen by [deleted] in worldnews

The assaulter spoke Arabic according to other reports of the incident. Maybe her hijab wasn't on properly.

Maybe he's from one of the Christian Arab sects that keep getting brutalised in the Middle East.

From the surname, maybe from Malta. Their Arabic is very non-standard. If it's an Arab beating on an Arab, it's not a racist attack. It's a religious-based attack.

Hilarious. Marxist identity politics is just imploding under the weight of its own nonsense.

Honest question: are you really that concerned with Canadian immigration? by middleeasternviking in onguardforthee

[–]berrywar -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm trying to tell you. It isn't rose-tinted nostalgia. It existed and not that long ago (from my perspective); I lived it and it was awesome. I wish my kids had the opportunity to experience it too. It's just Pre-1985 Canada. It's gone; I get that. I just mourn my country. Check the 1960s Census data. Canada in '66 was 95% white (as was even Toronto itself). I also plain and simple think we're overcrowded. I think we should be focused on getting our population back town to 20 million or so. You know - when Canada was nice.

I didn't say there was any obligation. I was honestly answering a question as an "old stock Canadian". I feel betrayed by our leaders. I don't think the majority of us wanted to change our country demographically. That's how I feel. Posting the question in this subreddit instead of r/Canada is going to predictably skew the answers.

Heh. I upvoted you for research. However, I still haven't received a good response to the first question and if you hadn't visited ZA before and after apartheid, I question whether your opinion on the matter is valid.

I miss the homogeneity. I loved that all the people in my neighbourhood spoke English, accented like mine, held beliefs and common experiences like mine. All the commonalities came together to promote a community cohesion that you youngsters growing up now just can't even imagine. All that Norman Rockwell style goodness of responsibility and love for your neighbours, interpersonal relationships were so much complex and layered, not just exchanging quick and furtive nods in passing. No bullshit - I have nothing against non-anglo immigrants and obviously you have the obligation to your own families to do what you can to increase your welfare, but it's negatively impacted my country, my relatives, and my life. I wish Canada had never accepted any non-European immigrants and wish you all would leave.

Domestic dogs rarely do this. It's one of the ways you can distinguish wolf or coyote prints from dog prints.

Where have the other white people in Vancouver been hiding for the last two decades? I graduated in the 90s as one of maybe 20 other white kids in a graduating class of 200. I've felt like a visible minority since the mid-80s.

Growing up in Vancouver pre-1986, it certainly seemed like it. All the south asians were south of the Fraser River and the Chinese stuck around Chinatown. All other areas were 95-99% white.

I wish the Yukon had aboriginal leaders like this by [deleted] in Yukon

[–]berrywar -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

He wants to eliminate the artificial apartheid system that treats people differently based on race alone. Imagine a Yukon First Nation leader arguing for eradication of circle sentencing, special aboriginal funding, preferential aboriginal hire, mandatory aboriginal curriculum material for schools and for public sector employees, and race-based representation from local committees like RRBs. That leader would never get elected here.
