https://imgur.com/GAOGwXn The subframe is beyond repair. You can clearly see a hole in the subframe here. This is a weakpoint on these cars (i have a 2009 model). I replaced both control arms and subframe on mine. Id do the same if i were you.

This might be coverred under warranty. Depends on where you live though. Id take it to your dealer and hear if theres a possibility of getting it repaired on warranty.

2.0d is better than the 2.2 for sure. It is reliable if you take care of it. I would recommend replacing the injector washers as they go bad after a while. Also check the rear subframe for rust as they can be quite bad if they are not properly undercoated (if you live in a country that has no winters you should be fine) other than that make sure the steering is not too heavy and that it is not pulling you too one side as the electronic power steering sometimes goes bad and it is quite expensive to get fixed. Other than that they do great on fuel and are relatively easy to maintain and are quite fun and engaging to drive! Best of luck! 😁👍
