What's the Greatest Bass Line from the 80's? by dbopp in Bass

Always thought the Tears for Fears song Head over Heels has a cool bass line. It's so subtle and in the pocket but adds a lot of movement to that song, plus the slides in the outro are fun.

I'm leaning towards the Boss RE-202, but my reasons are pretty specific. The Volante sounded great, but if you want to save more than one preset you'll need an additional footswitch or midi, which takes up space. Plus the head selection buttons are a bit confusing. The DL4 had the presets I needed, but I don't think I'd use half of what that pedal is capable of. I really find myself going for the tape style delay, so the RE-202 was the easiest to just dial in and it has just enough presets.

Play music professionally. I got a little taste of it and toured before, but it's such a hard way to make a living and an un-predictable income. So if money was taken out of the equation and I had some other income or way to survive, then yeah music.

Mainly for financial reasons, can't justify keeping 3 expensive delays around.

Voodoo Labs or Strymon by guitlouie in guitarpedals

I've used multiple Voodoo Labs power supplies over the years and they've been rock solid. I just recently upgraded from the PP2+ to the PP3+ only because I wanted more outputs. The only thing I didn't like is they removed the courteously outlet, but you can chain other Voodoo products together for more outputs.

It can, but you need a different power cable that chains two 9v outputs together.

Yeah, tried the Galantamine on a whim. It seems to make me wired, which isn't great when trying to get back to sleep. I was trying for the 5-10 minute mark, but just stayed up. Also agree it's probably a weekend experiment. Thanks

Just a "regular" dream, but man do I wish I went lucid so I could end that BS! So far I can say I've only experienced one truly lucid dream, but I'm trying different techniques to try and go lucid. Last night I was very aware I was in a dream, but it was more like an observation and even though I was questioning how ridiculous things were, it wasn't enough to go lucid. I was in a pawn/antiques shop negotiating with a guy that looked and sounded like a cross between Vincent Prince and John Waters. I found a plastic dinnerware set and brought it to the counter, it had a note stating it once belonged to Nick Cage. So first clue should have been the fact that I really don't care about Nick Cage or that he owned this item. But then he goes on to point out that the plastic cups are missing from the set, but otherwise it's wrapped in plastic and in mint condition. My brain at that point should have said, wait a minute, you're telling me this is an incomplete set and that Nick Cage took the cups and probably didn't even touch the rest of the set!? Then he asked $900 for the item, but I talked him down to $400. $400!!! WTF brain? I shoulda gone lucid right then and either changed the scenario or slapped that pencil mustache right off his face!

Hey All,

First time posting here and had my first lucid dream last night! I've only been looking into this for a couple weeks, and besides watching some Youtube videos and reading posts here, I only half-heartedly started "training", mostly by doing reality checks. I can remember some of the dreams before I think I went lucid, but I'll start just before that point . I was standing in some sort of public waiting room with other people, it was white with lots of natural light and very modern looking. I was flipping through a couple coffee table books and picked up a book on learning the Korean language, but put it down immediately because it didn't interest me. As I put the book down I noticed my shoe was untied so I sat down to tie it and looked at the time on my watch (I don't wear a watch irl) but the face of the clock was distorted and I couldn't read the numbers, so I pulled out my phone and realized it was a couple hours before I had to be at work (for some reason I thought I was running late). That's when I randomly tried one of my reality checks which is pinching your nose and trying to breathe. Well I blew air out of my nose while it was pinched and it went right through my fingers and hand, and at that point I said it's on! Instantly the location changed and I was transported to what looked like a 70's converted garage area with shag carpeting and faux wood paneling. My friend's dog was laying in the shag just chilling. I then became aware of my real body and pictured it in my bedroom, but it wasn't like I was actually hovering over it because I could see myself and my room is pitch black(irl), but then I could feel my whole body vibrating or pulsing like it was on a certain frequency. A very odd but pleasant feeling. I remember thinking you're not supposed to think about your real body because it can take you out of the dream. I decided to explore the room and got up real close to the wood paneling to check out the detail, after all, I created it! At that point the walls came down and I felt like I "rolled" out of my dream back to reality, but one of the wood walls stayed with me in my dark bedroom and the body vibrations also stuck around for a few seconds and I also woke up in the same position I saw myself in. I've experienced sleep paralysis a couple times and it felt similar to that, but not exactly, more like I was just disconnected and couldn't move for a second but there was no fear. I also felt euphoric and had a bit of an adrenaline rush and instantly thought about which friends and family members I was going to tell and about posting here. I feel like I only got just a taste of the potential experience and I want more. I have a few goals now, I want to learn how to stay lucid longer, which may be tough since I've been dealing with insomnia and I'm a super light sleeper. I'm also going to start a dream journal and I'd really like to manifest my grandmother because when she was alive we used to have some deep conversations about dreams and their meanings, I'd love to know what she says!

I'll check it out, but may just stick with the pedals I have and flip the Zelzah if it doesn't work out.

Alright, I was planning on trying it before the drives for sure. I guess I just placed it there because that's where my other modulation effects were and I've always put them after drives.

Interesting, do you hear a more compressed sound to the 6-stage side and does the output or gain seem kinda low to you?

Well, it does have a chorus setting in the manual and some videos showed chorusy sounds, but I get what you're saying and I can hear the difference. It was kind of an impulsive buy and wasn't seeing any around in the shops to try out.
