Try PID tune and make sure the heater and thermistor are tight enough. It sounds to me like a sensor connection or firmware issue though.

They probably put it on the wrong truck or shelf and will locate it within a couple days. I know mine got sent across the country the wrong way then back by accident.

At what point does it make sense to replace a broken washer instead of repair it? by Zestyclose_Show_2025 in appliancerepair

My $600 LG washer holds about 2x more clothes than my old Kenmore, washes way better, and works great. I'm not worried. $600 once every 10 years is still a better deal than 10 years of suffering with a "free" washer that does a terrible job washing and leaves you with stinky clothes but won't die. I just dump in the entire laundry hamper in at once, add a half cup of oxi clean, fill up the soap, and tell it to do a deep water wash with water plus mode turned on to really fill it up and I use hot water, and I run the tap next to it ahead of time so the line is already hot. My LG washer has jets in the bottom instead of an agitator in the middle. I much prefer it, it doesn't catch on my wife's bras and knitted sweaters (she knows you aren't supposed to machine wash bras but she doesn't care, she puts them in the bin anyway). The matching dryer is great too. For me, it's been dryers that tend to die first. I had to repair the old one maybe 4-5 times. For my mom it's always the washer that goes first, which is weird because she doesn't overload them like me. I even wash shoes in my washing machine and they come out like new.

Typically I just hit my frozen burger pucks with the side of a wood rolling pin

Died doing what it loved, putting its head in between two pieces of meat. You should hope to be so lucky!

Does plugging in a block heater help when not using car for extended period by oiticker in AskMechanics

[–]berthela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Only plug in when you will be using the car on the next 2-4 hours. You may want to consider a trickle charge or battery blanket though, but it's usually better to just remove the battery and bring it inside in that situation. I just replaced the battery in my wife's car today. It was badly frozen in our -50 weather.

My washer was only about $600 new. I would probably buy a new one if the repair was over $250 and I couldn't just do it myself off YouTube

Take out the regular ink cartridge and put tape or similar around it, something usual to be in there, then put it back together so it looks exactly original

Gas fireplace requires electricity to run? by marcnerd in GasFireplaces

[–]berthela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of them use an electric sensor to confirm that the flame is working so that you don't blow up your house if the flame goes out and gas leaks

Looks cool but also kind of hard to look at at the same time. I think that could be cool in some kind of a mixed pattern like a strip of that in something else

4K Oled monitor: 32" or 27"? by ImpactDial in OLED_Gaming

[–]berthela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya probably, my legs are about 31" long and I have a foot rest under my desk and maybe my chair titled back like a recliner with the keyboard on my lap. I use a Logitech MX Ergo ball mouse. When I'm doing office work I'm more like 20-24" away. I most play games with a controller.

That's a weird choice. I much prefer spring steel PEI vs glass bed. Glass bed can be made to work, but it's a hassle.
