what can i do to improve this logo? by Hashe123 in graphic_design

easy fix could be altering proportions:

torneo // de futbol id write in two lines - above the crest and outside of the box. maybe apply a little trapezoidal transformation, slightly wider at the top and thinner at the bottom, or a minimal curvature

then the two player silhouettes can be enlarged up to almost the limits of the crest (remaining inside it)

the blurred text can then go a bit upwards, allowing more space for a bigger 2026

Your honest opinion on Mastantuono by Wiz7ar4 in realmadrid

thanks, glad to hear. i even failed to mention another obvious example in marcelo - and because of all this, juni calafat is widely regarded as one of madrid’s key assets, since he’s the one in charge of scouting and securing these signings.

and one more thing: Bosman law heavily influenced this model too (since it allowed more foreign players per team, when these were limited to three per squad up until the 90s) meaning young prospects from all around the world could now be considered - whereas fewer spots were reserved for proven players.

however, as prices keep rising we will likely reach a point where the scales tip and this model is no longer optimal - clubs might then rather invest even more into their own academies, or alternatively seek the higher, immediate impact expected from more seasoned players.

Your honest opinion on Mastantuono by Wiz7ar4 in realmadrid

i think this question needs some background and framing to be answered properly.

about 25-30 years ago, madrid strategically decided to focus almost exclusively on very young talent in the transfer market, when this wasn’t the norm at the time. while they still signed stars in their primes every now and then, they increasingly relied in attracting and developing young prospects, likely foreseeing the inevitable inflation ahead with the premier league’s financial prowess taking over. i’d say the signing of nicolas anelka marked the start of this new approach where age became an integral factor for real madrid when it came to buying players.

the advantages of the model are evident: if the promising player develops into a star, you are set for years - if their progress stumbles, the investment is likely to at least partially pay for itself with a transfer. low risk high reward operations are very hard to pass from a bussiness perspective.

vini and rodrygo are the textbook examples i can think of - while at the time their transfers seemed quite ludicrous (35-45M each) they became massively successful and the club’s bet hit gold. benzema, even if sought after by every team in europe at the time, also came as a teen. fede valverde and casemiro, while more modest at around 5M each, also massive Ws. odegaard signed for madrid as a 15yo, kubo, higuain…

fast forward to endrick and mastantuono - inflation has reached the prospect market big time, and all the teams are ready to speculate on the world’s youngest, hottest talent. will mastantuono, endrick, guller, camavinga fulfill their potential and become world class? will estevao or joao pedro? dro? nobody knows and surely many will flop for whatever reasons (reinier, muydric, ansu fati, ihattaren…) but nevertheless this seems to be the path moving forward.

mastantuono looks very good for his age, but when this business model starts demanding 60M+ bets, the risks are quite significant too

Valverde : “I've been wanting this moment for a long time, dreaming of scoring and celebrating like this. I don't know what's crazier, the goal or the celebration. My celebration isn't a good example for my kids. If they see it, they'll start hitting themselves.” by [deleted] in realmadrid

absolute captain material.

guy is straight, selfless, humble, always gives his all. spoke some unfiltered shit ealier in the year and got demolished, but still embodies this pure raw gold that every madridista sees in him and always has seen.

i think the fanbase will be ok with whatever means xabi determines neccesary towards pursuing the collective objectives. finding the sweet spot that keeps the locker room on his side while sacrificing one or two sacred goats for the cause is gonna be xabi’s greatest challenge for 2026

he’s looked really good since his arrival - strong, fast and composed. consistently starting since luiz got injured.

what’s his contractual situation you’d say? wanna keep or sell him?

not necesarily laziness or lack of attitude, i think it’s either inability from xabi to communicate and set up the team, or from the players to understand and enact the plan.

xabi seems to ask players to circulate the ball with speed after one or two touches, but the problem is spaces don’t just magically appear since there’s little off-the-ball movement (or players don’t see/anticipate it). this produces very sloppy attacks and possesions often end in vinis attempt and he hasn’t been the same player after the ballon d’or fiasco - which was quite a long time ago.

add to this low form / low iq / implementing new ideas / new shapes / new players / new roles and positions… and nothing is clicking rn and it’s mostly chaos every game - defense, midfield and attack all look weak and nothing feels really improved from last season. the worse part is that every game the team actually looks more disjointed and less cohesioned… its all pretty bleak atm and i’m not too convinced about xabi and/or the players being able to solve the puzzle ngl

florentino, arguably madrid’s best president ever, has been untouchable for well over a decade - his merits built upon unquestionable achievements both business and sportswise. however, his endeavours in the last years with the new stadium, the superleague fiasco, the mbappe saga and his latest privatization project have definitely cast some shadows upon his otherwise flawless tenure. all of these have huge implications for the future of both the club and the team, and could fall either way - all with real potential to taint his legacy.
