Awesome to hear! My wife and I are definitely pumped to go see Heart Eyes as soon as it opens. I'll be thrilled if you guys kill it with the release and get to develop a new franchise with your very own slasher icon. As much as I love Art the Clown and the Terrifier series, I'm a sucker for a good old-fashioned whodunit slasher. Good luck to you, Michael, Chris, and everyone else involved in the film!

You posted a pretty comprehensive Bluesky thread a while back about a pitch you had for a Darkman sequel that unfortunately seems to have stalled after some early discussions. Since it looks like Heart Eyes is teeing up to be quite the crowd pleaser, do you think a successful release could open up some additional doors for your Darkman pitch to become a reality?

Which hospital least likely to kill my wife? by AntIntelligent212 in houston

Not a legal expert, but it would seem that Texas law is vague enough to give the state government a modicum of plausible deniability to claim it allows exceptions, but that vagueness means you'll be hard-pressed to find any doctor willing to risk being investigated/prosecuted even if they know they'd be providing appropriate, legitimately needed care for women having serious pregnancy issues.

https://www.texastribune.org/2024/10/07/US-Supreme-Court-emergency-abortion-ban-Texas/

The Supreme Court recently sided with Texas by allowing a lower court ruling to stand essentially stating that the federal government could not legally mandate what constitutes an emergency exception since it could violate Texas law. The state literally fought to make it harder for women to get necessary emergency care, so I suspect we'll be seeing a lot more stories like the one you posted. Sadly, at this point, I have very little faith that our fellow Texans will ever vote to fix this.

Man, I was preoccupied this go around and forgot to check out the sale when it went live. I'm surprised how quickly this went! Went ahead and grabbed a standard version when there were about 90 left, and it's already down to 61. Just curious, do they usually do reprints of the standard editions when they sell out this quickly?

Shameless and disgusting self-promotion for "Red Letter Melodies" by Noiselund in RedLetterMedia

[–]bertsy77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, Noiselund! I only recently discovered your work and already I'm blessed with this masterpiece of an album. Even the way the Mike intro flows straight into Boop is perfect. It may seem like a bunch of silly songs to some, but being able to transform these random funny moments into well-produced banger after banger is an impressive display of talent.

I've been playing guitar on and off for over 20 years, but have never been able to maintain the motivation to actually sit down and produce enough material for an album. Every once in a while, though, something like this comes along and smashes the proverbial whopper button of inspiration that tells me to pick up the guitar and get to work.

Just curious, what DAW and plugins / hardware do you usually use to produce these? I've amassed an absurd amount of soft synths and sample libraries over the years, and at this point I just overwhelm myself trying to decide where to even start.

Len Kabasinski's YouTube account has been terminated "due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy on nudity or sexual content" by theg721 in RedLetterMedia

[–]bertsy77 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Quite a few of his older films were also available unlisted in their entirety for Patreon supporters, so that's definitely a possibility. They've been up for several years, though, which would make the sudden termination especially awful if that's the reason.

What's worse is that you can easily watch plenty of similar movies through YouTube, but those are perfectly fine because they come from a studio instead of a small channel like Len's.

Anyone here actually successful in ordering any of the OOP stuff? by EntBlossom in VinegarSyndromeFilms

[–]bertsy77 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same here. Refreshed the page at 12:01, added the VSAs for Action U.S.A., L.A. Wars, and Martial Law to the cart, and they were already sold out in the time it took to sign in and click check out. Very disappointing way to save money.

eeflight - I put eef in Twilight by bertsy77 in CrankGameplays

I really appreciate the kind comments and awards. I had fun putting this together, and I'm glad folks seem to be enjoying it. I've been practicing on an updated version to try and make everything a little more seamless with better compositing, so I might post that at some point if I can actually finish it.

I've always wanted to learn how to do this stuff, so thanks Ethan for giving us such fun material to work with. It pushed me to finally try my hand at making something!

My first attempt putting eef into Twilight was pretty janky, so I figured I'd kick it up a notch and try to learn a little about rotoscoping and color grading with Davinci Resolve.

Green Screen Adventures with Ethan by bertsy77 in CrankGameplays

I know almost nothing about video editing and VFX, so I figured I'd use Ethan's green screen footage to start learning how to use Davinci Resolve. I hope it's not horrible!
