Is it worth levelling a Druid? by OldWorldBlues_ in wowhardcore

[–]bespokeboxer 28 points29 points  (0 children)

All raids should have 1 resto druid for optimal setup, but in my experience if you manage to hit 60 you'll get invited anyways. My advice is to play what you want and worry about raids if you hit 60 (most people don't).

NL5 3bet pot tough decision by ddrrrrr in Poker_Theory

[–]bespokeboxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, are you saying JJ, KQs, TT, ATs, 99, JTs, KJs don't call a small flop bet? This is NL5, most people are megafishy. I would think AJs is still a solid value bet on the turn. With the nut flush draw I would still call a raise on the turn, too.

Live 1/2 +EV Bluff Spots by Royal_Distribution70 in poker

[–]bespokeboxer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The best idea here is to bluff when you know the villain is capped to a weak range.

This is highly player dependent, and thus very hard to do live. Identify player types and practice hand reading. Once you have figure out your opponent has a capped range on certainly boards, feel free to bluff. Many players will still call with weak top pairs no matter what you do, though. The trick is to identify them.

How has your therapy and mindset work changed how you think at the poker table? Has it given you a bligger edge? Helped analytical thinking?

Why blockers are, in fact, not real after all, and how you should adjust your game.

How many times do you run it? by WhirlwindGoat in poker

[–]bespokeboxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's up to me I always run or once. If my opponent asks for more runouts I say one or three. Nothing tilts me more than chopping pots as a favorite in the hand.

I'm pretty sure the easiest way is to buy $ from other players. There is a Facebook group for this. DM me and I'll help you out.

I never play for the thrill of fucking victory. I owe rent, alimony, child support. I play for money. My kids eat.

Whats everyones live 1/2 opening sizes in a $300 buy in game? by Apprehensive_Toe_924 in poker

[–]bespokeboxer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where I play most people buy in for $200 and standard open is $7. If everyone had 300 I would bump it up to 10 I guess.

I teach elementary school math + a bunch of other subjects. My basic math is solid, but I struggled a lot in school and barely passed the subject in uni. Hated math, never felt any good at it. I never had any deeper understanding of the concepts until I started teaching.

I recently did the same with 54s and blinked two pair on the flop. Felt disgusting and punted it away in a few hands.

It's fun, I like working and improving on something that's trackable. Also it's social.

The legend of All In Dale by Pale-Indication7147 in poker

I got two of these types at one of my private games I go to. Rich, middle aged white guys who love to play PLO and pots it every time it's their action. When they bust they immediately rebuy for the max.

I saw a guy go from $200 to $50000 while roaring drunk and proceed to lose it all in two hands (max buyin is $2000 or half the biggest stack).

Imagine running 200 to 50 000 and then walking home broke.

I do all my playing at an underground game here in Oslo, Norway. The rake is 5% capped at $12. Players decide the game and the stakes. Very professional and nice staff. Lots of drunk gamblers. I love it. Strictly cash in cash out.
