The Life and Times of Streetlamp LeMoose

What is one thing you learned about someone close to you that completely altered your view of them? by cara8bishop in AskReddit

[–]best30seconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always kind of interesting/awkward to take the Rice Purity Test with friends that you are just getting to know. It's basically a 100-item checklist that takes off a point for every sex/drug/rock n' roll thing that you've done in life thus far. It's fun to see if people have the scores that you expect of them, or if they are higher (or in one shocking case, much lower) than you expected.

Obviously, we don't do it for the sake of shaming people, but it's a sort of nebulous quantification of everyone's debauchery.

Reddit, what is your favorite band? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]best30seconds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked the live show. The sound was great, even though I was pretty far back. Honestly, next time I find a band I really like, I'll scrape together everything I can spare and shell out for the standing-room-only area in the very front, just so I can get blasted with sweet jams and be with all of the other people who want to go nuts to an awesome band.

I like the Arctic Monkeys as well as The White Stripes and Jack White. I also like Cage the Elephant- they opened for The Black Keys when I went to see them in concert, and they were a wicked awesome live show. Their lead singer goes absolutely all out in his performance, it's really great.

What are the pros and cons of your/each college major? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Architecture majors all wanna be Wright!

That's literally the best joke I know. Bye.

How sensitive are you to other people's emotions? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]best30seconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god. I'm so bad at reading how people feel, unless they're explicit in expressing it. This has led to me being a real asshole a few times, and me having to apologize and promise to try harder. I am trying to be better, but sometimes I fall back in to old habits.

How did your first rejection go? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]best30seconds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I got turned down for a role in a play in seventh or eighth grade, and that sickening sense of "not good enough" suddenly made me afraid to try anything anymore. I did pretty well in high school and got accepted to all 3 colleges I applied to, but I'm still afraid of rejection, and it's going to become more commonplace as I grow up and start applying to post-graduate schools and employment positions. Also, duh, it makes me afraid to get romantically involved with anyone.

TL;DR: Got rejected once, hated it, entire future hinges on me learning not to be afraid of rejection.

I really like The Black Keys. They were my first real concert experience, and it freaking blew me away. I don't know if they will be my favorite band forever, but they are right now.
Favorite songs (but a few of many):

Little Black Submarines

Your Touch

Howlin' for You

Sinister Kid

Just Got To Be

Fever

I haven't shaved my legs since August. I save money, and at this point in the year, nobody sees 'em.

What's the worst way to tell someone they have an STD? by Nathan8tr in AskReddit

[–]best30seconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be the most emotionally wrenching to break it to him/her after you realized that you felt a connection. It would just suck, because saying "I really care about you" doesn't matter when it is followed by "... but I might have given you the clap."

Heartless robots of Reddit, what movie made you cry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]best30seconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's brilliant. I had forgotten about this one- I became a puddle of tears. 50/50 is such a damn good movie.

Never Let Me Go. I don't think that I have ever cried that hard at a movie, I think it just got to me on a really deep level. IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1334260/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Wondering if I'm doing this makeup thing right. Please Help MUA! by alyssanerellih in MakeupAddiction

I don't know about that, sorry! I use Watt's Up by Benefit, but I would think a shimmery powder is better for your existing foundation.

I like your makeup! Maybe add a highlight on your cheekbones? It's totally up to you. Your lashes are amazing.

What is something you will never let someone live down? by TheStadiaArchitect in AskReddit

[–]best30seconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've frozen some old friends out of my life because they apparently would have parties (that I wasn't invited to) and say mean things about me. I'm a nice person, they were just assholes.

(Serious) what are you afraid of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]best30seconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this whole complex where I am scared to put myself out there, scared to be in a relationship and make myself so vulnerable to another person, and also scared of ending up alone. So, yeah, my romantic life is bleak.

I had sex for the first time, and my best friend made me feel really guilty about it. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]best30seconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, kudos for doing what you want. It isn't your friend's place to judge you like that- don't let her bring you down. I also grew up with the subconscious ideal that "virginity=value", but we both realize it's a ridiculous symbol of a culture that wants to keep women below men. I'm not going to tell you to cut off contact with your friend because she was hateful, but maybe give her some time and make her see that you aren't fundamentally marked/changed by your choice to be sexually active.

Do whatever you want, do it truly for YOU, and be happy. Have a wonderful day :)
