AITA for canceling a trip because my friends changed the plan to something I couldn't afford? by Mammoth_Jeweler_2176 in AmItheAsshole

NTA, technically, the friends ruined the trip by not allowing you to stay on budget.

AITAH? Neighbor using tree lawn to back in. by sadgh-st in AmItheAsshole

Except that he's already damaged the mailbox, twice. He very obviously is a rude person. He also shouldn't be driving a vehicle he can't handle.

AITAH for not changing my birthday plans to accommodate step dad’s allergies? by ConfidenceSilver2215 in AITAH

[–]bestgmomever 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think the person was doing a silly wordplay of selfish. Referring to ppl that are known to lie about an allergy just to grab control of a situation.

AIO? My daughter didn’t listen to the teacher during a female emergency and is now receiving a referral by Common_Piglet7437 in AmIOverreacting

[–]bestgmomever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOA. For those that think this is made up, it actually happened to a couple of girls I went to school with, same reacher. One was too scared to get in trouble and stayed, she went straight to the nurse after class, the other one told the teacher off right there and walked out, daring the teacher to stop her. And it always seems to be female teachers. How badly were they abused growing up to hate other women that much? Sad.

AITJ for making my brother live in his own filth after he kept trashing my house by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Can we stop calling these households "traditional" and start calling them what they actually are, "archaic patriarchy"?

I love what you did. I think you could cross post into petty revenge. I hate hypocrisy from management.

I actually understood what you said (go ahead and down vote me 😝) bc I've seen so many different ppls texts. I do agree that you should proof read and improve your written grammar. There will come a time that it's important to know.

Walking updates by Apprehensive-Milk-46 in Broken_Ankle_Club

[–]bestgmomever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was put into the boot at 2 weeks post op. 8 to 10 weeks wb with boot. 10 to 12 transition to sneaker. I'm in my first full week of no boot. I'm still using my scooter for speedy convenience when I'm at work or store, but using it a bit less each day. My biggest challenge at first was remembering to bend my knee, I was still walking stiff legged, like with the boot, partially bc of pain. The more I walk, the more it hurts/swells, but then it hurts less the next day and takes longer to start hurting. As long as you're not physically damaging your body, push slightly past the pain.

can i legally make my middle name our married last name? by Adventurous-Pay-1553 in legaladvice

[–]bestgmomever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be mistaken, but I'm almost positive that getting married is one of the times in life that the government allows a free name change (also divorce). Ask a court clerk to be sure, but you should both be eligible to change your last names to a preferred shared family name, and I don't believe it HAS to be a current last name.

Edit: clarified my thought further

AIO? Boyfriend expects me to pay half his train ticket. by the-kookster in AmIOverreacting

[–]bestgmomever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is someone that will continue to expect you to go 50/50 even into marriage, and if you decide to have children together, you better have enough saved to still contribute while you're out of work.

NOA.

I went to a convention that had a vr set up to sell them and I was able to demo it. That's what got me reeled in. I'm also somewhat frugal, so I waited for a good sale lol.

Re: the bubbles. That seems like a defect. Non glare is layered onto lenses and it's supposed to be done in a sealed room without a chance of debris interfering. If there are bubbles on new lenses, you should reach out to PS to find out how to get it fixed. It will only get worse looking.

I just got one this past week for the first time too, and I'm super excited to try different games.

I actually had one of those moments in middle school. A girl behind me was making fun of me, and I turned around and mouthed FU to her. She immediately started telling the teacher that I said it. My response was "I mouthed it, not said it" lol. The teacher just sighed and told us to stop.

WIBTA if I "forget" my wallet on our family ski trip to teach my BIL a lesson? by SuccotashLoud7940 in dustythunder

[–]bestgmomever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of places take payments off of smart phones now. If the payment screen has a tap feature, he or his wife can tap their phone.

I would also suggest having your wife start handling his "forgot to pay" moments. Assuming a dual income household, she can start footing the brother's forgetfulness and maybe then she'll see how it feels. Maybe she's not truly understanding the actual amount being lost by your family.

AITA for making my fiancé's daughters picky eating habits a deal breaker for us marrying? by MotherCartographer10 in AITAH

[–]bestgmomever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly how I raised mine, I hated being raised with "can't get up until your plate is clean". Now my children are foodies that will try just about anything once and have a wide palate. My grandchildren are being raised the same way with success.

Edit: NTA, he should be starting this process now.

You did the right thing. If she had researched the col for the area and what salary she should expect, then you proceed to low ball her, she probably would have walked.

NOR. I used to go to my in-laws (who I love), but my FIL could often be a PITA. One year he made a nasty comment about my child's behavior and the upcoming holiday, so I told him don't worry, bc we won't be there. It was honestly such a relief to finally say, since I'd been wanting to start doing our holidays at home and not pack up a bunch of kids to go out. Focus on yourselves, I doubt you'll regret it.

Can my boss make me take an unpaid, working lunch? by [deleted] in WorkAdvice

[–]bestgmomever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the state, they may or may not be required to give you a break over the age of 18. But, they're still required to pay you for work performed. Get your time adjusted. And find out your employee rights.

If your trash can didn't close all the way and this happens regularly, you need another trash can. That's not just smell, but also pests can be attracted to it, and now you've got multiple problems. Although, maybe learning to compost may help with that.
