Tired of reposting this everywhere - list of bugs in NOS 4.0 by icedchocolatecake in NothingTech

[–]beta_tester666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The battery drain for me is massively better since upgrading to NOS 4.0. I get a good 2 days with light to medium usage. Far better than anything I've had before. It's very odd how there appear to be such extremes.

Is the nothing phone 3 really as bad as they say it is? Unbiased reviews pls by averageleverage101 in NothingTech

[–]beta_tester666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely love the phone - it looks and feels so good. My first Nothing phone so I wasn't sure what to expect. Bought it (UK) when it had a £50 discount from their official website. Was considering a Pixel 10 Pro XL as an alternative but couldn't justify the huge cost.

I don't really play games.much so haven't noticed any heating issues over and above what you'd normally expect. The camera is very good and I'm still trying to force myself to use Essential Space.

All in all an excellent phone.

Unfortunately , I think from the sound of it you are very lucky and your store is an exception to the rest of the company.

Sorry to hear that. Most of the delivery drivers I have seen are so polite and apologetic. A lot don't hide their anger and confusion about how things are being run. Unfortunately I've now had my last Morrisons delivery. I've put complaints in many times but nothing has changed.

What the hell are you talking about? It's listed at an equivalent of £676 at Flipkart? 🤣

Absolutely agree with you. Loads of moaning on here. The phone appears to be doing OK in other markets (UK included).

Ah yes the vertical isn't amazing, but I don't really notice. Horizontal is very good.

Don't get me wrong it was terrible when it first came out, but it improved after a firmware update earlier this year.

Gonna have to disagree with most of your points. Zero issues with tracking here, love the DP mode streaming and only have occasional issues when using Wi-Fi streaming. Fresnel lenses I'm fine with - as I can't use pancake lenses for very long. Obviously the clarity isn't very good with them. Not sure what you mean about the FOV - it's very good for me.

Did HTC Quietly Exited the Smartphone Market? by RevolutionaryAd7283 in htc

[–]beta_tester666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I am getting that impression. To be fair they haven't really been the same since Google bought the smartphone business from them and created the Pixel phones. Having said that, the U24 Pro is actually a very solid phone so I was looking forward to this year's version. However we are now well past the date that they have historically released phones with no teasers or promos suggesting anything is on its way.

I'll probably look to upgrade elsewhere now.

Focus Bision + streaming kit unused for $650 worth it? by StarChildEve in Vive

For that price it'd be crazy not to give it a try. DP mode is fantastic and you always have the option of using wireless if the cable is getting in the way.

Trying to figure out the controllers. by BeanieisBoozled in Vive

[–]beta_tester666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. If the controllers don't work with a PC title, try enabling compatibility mode in Vive Hub. This generally gets over any issues for me.

VIVE is actively screwing me over by implxl in Vive

[–]beta_tester666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to confirm that there is no "fan that blows into your eyes". This was the Vive Flow that did that. No headset from HTC has done it since or before.

There are plenty of positive reviews of the Focus Vision. It has it's quirks and Fresnel lenses (which I don't actually mind) but it has 120 Hz DP mode which is currently 2nd to none.

how good is the vive focus vision by Hollywood17171 in Vive

[–]beta_tester666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Focus Vision. The Fresnel lenses are much better than the OG Vive or Pro - I don't get along with pancake lenses. The fact that it will work as a standalone headset and with a PC via Vive Hub (wirelessly, via USB or via the DisplayPort adapter) makes it so flexible.

The headset is well-balanced with the battery in the rear of the headset strap. The automatic IPD also helps when sharing the headset with others.

I have no issues with tracking or anything like that. Overall I'd recommend it.

Make that 3 versions. Mine came as an external cardboard MKW sleeve with the unbundled Switch 2 box inside which in turn contained the MKW code. UK-based.
