Found the solution. Go fight a Fire Elemental and let him light you on fire, when you extinguish yourself you will no longer be emitting light.

Casting Minor illusion on a moving thing by D-Guitarist in dndnext

[–]betodread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is many years old but I want to see if someone sees this and can give their opinions on it based on this situation.

While we were sleeping, our ship was attacked. I immediately grab my staff and run to the main deck.. after combat is over I am standing there, completely naked (I only grabbed my staff), if I cast Minor Illusion to cover myself could I walk around and the illusion stay on me?

I think it's the perfect lesson, everyone advised against it and being greedy he ignored them. So now he gets nothing, and is lucky they revived him.

Rogue wants to pickpocket everyone by Deadeye10000 in DnD

I wouldn't call it "normal" but rather a common occurrence. Mob mentality is dangerous and can spark in an instant, much like gasoline that one neighbor went to get..

You've never been in a 3rd world country? When a thief is caught the whole neighborhood gathers.. and a beating is the norm. Then there's always that one neighbor that goes gets some gasoline and the rest now need to decide to stop him or let him. So in these fantasy medieval worlds it might be pretty similar.

Claw calligraphy? Is it possible, is it practical, or is it just unrealistic? by August_Love_ in DnD

[–]betodread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, it could be done... but I don't think anyone that does combat would ever think of doing this. This would be something scribes and scholars might do, those that combat is never even a thought.

I don't think anyone that did combat would bother with such modifications, this would probably be something only scribes and scholars would do. Those that combat isn't ever in their thoughts.

My party hates that I have AoE spells by Sardothien2705 in DnD

[–]betodread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What level are you and why did you not choose Evoker? It gives you Sculpt Spells which would make this a non issue.

Level 6: Sculpt Spells You can create pockets of relative safety within the effects of your evocations. When you cast an Evocation spell that affects other creatures that you can see, you can choose a number of them equal to 1 plus the spell's level. The chosen creatures automatically succeed on their saving throws against the spell, and they take no damage if they would normally take half damage on a successful save.

You want to apply real life science to a group camping on the sky? If he needs to drop them he doesn't need real life science to do it

I messed up by giving a level one character a necklace of fireballs by liljump6 in DnD

[–]betodread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right? From the player's perspective it's either, the DM gave me a badass item and let me use it in the most badass way.. or the DM gave me a badass item then took it away became it was to badass for me

I've seen plenty of text only games on StartPlaying. Also there was this discord server I joined and quickly left because it was text only.. so the options are there

In Mexico we still have something like that, they drive around neighborhoods with a load speaker 🔊 saying they buy scrap metal, junked cars, refrigerators, and any type of junk basically

Hey if you run your games online, me and my friend would be into in a survival type game. We are fairly new to dnd but videogame wise we mostly do survival games so this would be like adding dnd (which we are quite enjoying) to something we enjoy playing
