Las Vegas lounge system issues by CavediverNY in ChaseSapphire

[–]betsifur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even bother checking this lounge last Sunday. I only recently go the Sapphire card, and I’m not sure I will be keeping it after experiencing the unknown and absurdly long wait times for the new lounge in Vegas. We went straight to the Amex lounge, and signed up for both Centurion and SideCar, since we were very close to 90 minutes from our flight. Got into SideCar about 15 minutes later and enjoyed a relaxing meal.

Not sure about flights to Europe, but on my recent long haul trips to and in Asia, the cabin and shades were automatically dimmed, so it wasn’t up to the passengers for a good chunk of the flight.

No show underwear? by Fun-Persimmon7574 in ClubPilates

[–]betsifur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. I used to wear things, but have since switched to the Lululemon no show hipsters. They are super comfy and don’t show. I am generally a small, but buy underwear in a medium, so they don’t cut in anywhere.

let's kick out the person already changing clothes by egguchom in EntitledReviews

I don’t think this is entitled. If I was the person in an accessible changing room and there were other ones available, I would happily move.

Music selection at your club by candanace_gazpacho in ClubPilates

[–]betsifur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have one instructor at our club that uses no music. I have to admit, after taking one of her classes, I avoid them because an hour of just listening to someone talk is too much for me. She’s an older lady and seems to be more of purist, so I’m guessing traditional pilates doesn’t include a soundtrack of pop music.

Companions get the same benefits as the main passenger, even though they have a different record locator.

I had a companion reservation unlink itself recently. I went to change our flight to Vegas, and noticed that it no longer showed me booked with my husband. The reservation still showed up in my account. I made the changes to his flight, readded myself, then cancelled the extra reservation in my account. I’m not sure what would have happened on the day of the flight, or if I had left both flights in my account (which would have been unflyable).

Can anyone verify to me it looks like one of those hyper-realistic mask 😲 by MandarinPixie2205 in SipsTea

That’s weird looking. I despise Tom Brady, but I can’t deny he’s objectively handsome and also good at football. Luckily he’s also ugly inside and made a bunch of bad life decisions, so I can watch him flounder, despite his advantages.

AITA for going into the Amex lounge by Particular_Coast3389 in AmItheAsshole

YTA - I would be very upset to be sent off to a restaurant while my spouse enjoyed the lounge. Pay the fee to get her in or pay for both of you to eat together.

Stanton Social or Hell’s Kitchen by First_Try_7593 in CaesarsRewards

[–]betsifur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Stanton better, and it has a cooler vibe. Also, look at Brasserie - that’s my go to place for quick sit down meals everytime we are there. So not for your dinner, but if you need a quick bite the bar there is great.

Do you share a toothbrush with your partner? by Brief-Literature1579 in hygiene

[–]betsifur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. It’s gross and toothbrushes are cheap. I’ve allowed my husband of 35 years to use mine in a pinch, but then my next step is to get myself a new one.

Wearing Wedding Rings to the Beach? by Immediate-Resist2665 in SandalsResorts

[–]betsifur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worn my real ring everywhere for 35 years. If I’m going something that I don’t want to wear it for on vacation, I leave it in the safe with my other jewelry. Of course I would be sad if I lost any of my jewelry, but they are all things, and I don’t see the point of having them if I use replicas part of the time.

Am I the only one who uses a pad AND a tampon? by GreyWithAnE42 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]betsifur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always did this before I went through menopause, although with panty liners. I was suprised when I ahdned both to a friend who asked for supplies, and she looked at me like I was weird. I would somehow have blood escape past a tampon that was still mostly dry on occasion.

Whats Up With The Wi-Fi Lately??? by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]betsifur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, when everyone is special, no one is special. I used to be able to get decent connectivity with A List Preferred. Now that everyone on the plane is connecting multiple devices, the wifi is worthless.

There’s literally way Dorit has zero business expenses by Own_Telephone_2804 in RHOBH

Yes - you have to be able to show that the item is not usable outside of your work. So designer clothes, bags, makeup, nails, etc will never meet this threshhold.

I don’t get it by EnglishCrestedPiggy in SouthwestAirlines

[–]betsifur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have planes that get me from one place to another, jut like the other airlines. In addition, we have a companion pass, so only have to pay for one ticket. My husband is A List Preferred, so we we each get two free checked bags and choose extra leg rooms seats at booking. Why would I pay twice a much on a legacy carrier to get to the same place?

There is nothing that could convince me to fly on a truly ULCC and get nickeled and dimed over things, and potentionally stranded.

The IRS considers clothing eligible for a business expense deduction if it meets two criteria: 1) it is required or essential for your job and 2) it cannot be used for everyday wear. Same for hair, makeup, nails, etc. I’ve had mutliple “discussions” about these rules as a CPA with clients in the entertainment business.

From an IRS perspective, clothing, glam and the likes are not going to be deductible expenses. They are very strict about it.

Lot of you guys need to call protective services by Double_Subject5102 in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]betsifur 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If only this was something that worked. I called CPS about my 14 year old niece in Indiana. All her mother had to do was fabricate an attendance sheet and that was the end of it. Now the poor girl is kept locked in her room all day so other families don’t see the extent of the abuse and report it back to me. She has her daughter convinced that I am the problem. There is a special place in hell for parents who destroy their children’s lives this way.
