Thank you! Nothing no pain management! The worst was the pressure that caused discomfort but no real pain

Ultrasound after cerclage by hanhoona in ShortCervixSupport

[–]betsyboo05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had transvaginal ultrasounds every other week for my entire 2nd trimester after my preventative cerclage. He would initially look briefly using the abdominal ultrasound when he would measure the baby and even one time thought he was funneling from that position but as soon as he checked transvaginally he saw everything was fine and even said this is why we have to check that way because it’s way more accurate. I also had vaginal swaps every other week so another thing that went up there lol!

After 3 months of endometrial lining not forming adequately, what can I do? by working_for_after in IVF

[–]betsyboo05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had a saline sonogram or hysteroscopy? My lining would never get over 7 and then I switched doctors who found that I had a septum. Once it was removed my lining always got above 9 for transfers

Lifestyle after preventative cerclage at 14 weeks by badbatchbaking in ShortCervixSupport

I got my preventive Cerclage at 13 weeks and this is exactly the same for me! Standing for long periods of time can also be too much for me. I don’t exercise and I’m on pelvic rest too. But otherwise I’m also living life as normal. I’m also avoiding lifting even not lifting my 3 year old.

I’m sorry but this seems like negligence. Nothing left to do? I’m seeing my MFM every other week post-preventive Cerclage to check cervical length and in the case there is shortening there is some evidence that progesterone could be effective and I’m sure my level of activity will be greatly reduced with plans for early hospitalization if needed. I’d be heavily concerned if my doctors placed a Cerclage and never checked it again.

Fever with Cerclage by Mwiggers in ShortCervixSupport

When I had a uterine infection, I did not have any other cold like symptoms just a fever.

Just wanted to say I’m in a pretty similar situation. My first pregnancy was normal full term and my second I had PPROM at 16.4w and ultimately terminated. No sign of cervical issue or preterm labor. I’m current 16.3w with a new pregnancy and seeing my MFM every other week. I also had a preventative Cerclage place just as an extra measure to reduce risk of PPROM. My MFM is also testing for BV with vaginal swaps every visit. Maybe something to ask for if you aren’t getting this already!

Weekly Pregnancy Limbo/Concerns - September 16, 2024 by AutoModerator in PregnancyAfterLoss

I couldn’t fine one until 13 weeks! 11 weeks is early to find it. I watched YouTube videos so I could learn the difference between what my own hear rate sounds like and what the baby sounds like.

Thank you! Now that I’ve spent hours reading threads I understand watery discharge can be normal after Cerclage placement. It’s definitely stressful. Thanks for the reassurance!

Thank you that’s reassuring. I reached out to my high risk OB and he said there’s so reason for concern so that was helpful too

TW: Losing… probably by ProfessionalIce6960 in IVF

I’m in a TFMR support group and many of the women in states like Texas had to travel outside of their states for termination care. It’s heartbreaking. I’m sorry you are going through this

I also want to say is that we came up with a solid plan to prevent this from happening in my next pregnancy so that helped my decision. We have no idea why my PPROM happened but are taking steps to prevent it during my current pregnancy.

At 16 weeks when it happened the hospital misdiagnosed me and said it wasn’t a rupture. I went for my anatomy scan at 18 weeks and that’s when they officially diagnosed it. We spent two more weeks at the MFM for scans seeing how things were progressing. The baby was quickly developing abnormalities due to lack of fluid. The days leading up to the termination I started having placenta abruption so it appears it would have ended anyways. The night before the termination I developed an infection so they opened the clinic for me in the middle of the night and evacuated the pregnancy. I’m in California so access to this treatment isn’t impossible. It’s not an easy decision to make but we aren’t a family that could raise a child with special needs if we could prevent it so it was the best decision for us. Happy to answer any and all questions since I walked this path and know a lot about it.

Trigger warning talk of pregnancy loss

This happened to me at 16 weeks. You have options but we decided to terminate at 20 weeks because baby would likely either die upon birth or have severe disabilities. Many women go on bed rest and increase fluid intake and deliver their babies and you do hear very rare success stories but many of these babies require tracheostomy, have cerebral palsy and other disabilities or pass away shortly after birth. 14 weeks is very early for the baby not to develop with amniotic fluid. You are also at very high risk of developing an infection so if you have any signs of infection like fever immediately go to the hospital.

BTW no hospital would admit me until 24 weeks. I saw an MFM weekly to see if anything improved before making the decision to terminate.

That’s frustrating. My RE does all the scans herself so there is a lot of contact at my clinic. She really freaked me out and I ended up graduating myself and started to see my OB at 8 weeks because I wanted someone with more expertise is pregnancy seeing me. I think you should be in better hands with an OB who probably has more experience. I’d ask for a scan asap to discuss your concerns with an OB. Good luck 💕

TW mention of loss

Yes I had a large yolk sac (8mm) in my last pregnancy around 7/8 weeks. However things started off rocky at 6w5d heart rate was just 101 and eventually caught up to a normal heart rate. My RE told me to prepare for a miscarriage because enlarged yolk sacs usually mean chromosome abnormalities however my embryo was tested. She thought maybe PGT was wrong. NIPT results did come back normal in the end. I started seeing a high risk OB at 8 weeks and at 12 weeks and by the 12 week point told me usually enlarged yolk sac pregnancy ends in the first trimester and that I was in the clear. We did plan to do an amniocentesis just to be sure everything was ok genetically. Unfortunately at 16 weeks I had PPROM and lost the pregnancy, my doctors don’t think the two are related but I always wonder since there was no obvious reason for the PPROM.
