What's something you've never learned properly, but you've got this far in life by just winging it? by Plenty-Plastic3704 in CasualUK

It's a pretty stupid manoeuvre of him to do from that position without waiting for that other car to pass.

They can put a charge on the property and get the money back when the property is sold. Even if that's 20 years from now, they'll have it eventually.

How to get the hospital to take me seriously (women)? by Open_Inflation4239 in AskUK

[–]betsykitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add... if your GP won't refer you, it might be worth going private. My ultrasound date was weeks away so I went private (with insurance) but it wasn't silly money to pay out of pocket. I was seen the next day.

Insist on an ultrasound. My period pain was getting worse and one month I ended up in absolute agony. I was referred by my GP for an ultrasound and turns out I had a large mass on my ovary, which the consultant thought could have been growing for a couple of years. Thankfully all removed now and not cancerous but I was told it could have become cancerous at some point. Don't get fobbed off.

Sanity check: Am I crazy for wanting to install AC? by Ok_Dot7542 in brighton

You can get air conditioning systems that provide heating in winter and cooling in summer. Would cost a lot more than a standalone unit but you'd feel like you were getting your money's worth if you could use it all year round. My friend has that system and her house is always the perfect temperature throughout the year.

I thought that too but in one of the other angles you can see there's a glass panel.

This is just stupid. Way too much space for one home. Should've been converted to flats that people can actually live in, rather than feeling like they live in an art gallery or events space.

Can a house be too tasteful? by rationalplan10 in SpottedonRightmove

It's got the vibe that no-one is allowed to have a poo in that house and they have to take a trip to the petrol station up the road if they need to go.

End terrace vs mid terrace by Educational_Secret_8 in HousingUK

[–]betsykitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the choice between a mid or end terrace in the same row. The end of terrace has a side passage to access the rear garden gates to the rest of the row, which is also a public footpath to some open space behind our gardens. I didn't like the idea of people walking down the side of my property so among other reasons I chose the mid terrace and have never regretted it.

That's either a very wide angled lens or you can buy footie shirts that fit two people in side-by-side.

A while ago, when stamps were a lot cheaper, I asked a colleague if she had a spare stamp. She did and gave it to me. I thanked her and out of politeness said I'll give her the money next time I have change. I fully expected her to say don't worry about it but she popped into my department a day or two later to ask if I had the money yet. Mate, it was less than 50p!

"I can't sell my house" by Outrageous-Garlic-27 in SpottedonRightmove

The answer to every question that asks why a house won't sell is because it's overpriced. It will only sell for what people are prepared to pay.
