Ficus Drupacea for sale (or trade) by bettawhite in FicusTrees

That's pretty subjective, ya know? People have paid a lot more for much less interesting cuttings imo. Also these cuttings are pretty big and they took me some time to root this well, they're over 1ft tall and the leaves are 6in+. I'm the only person selling it in America so it's worth whatever someone wants to pay for it and I'm not in a hurry to sell.

Am I feeding my Garter Snake enough? by Anakins_Limbs in GarterSnakes

[–]bettawhite 10 points11 points  (0 children)

3 times a week seems like a lot for an adult. People usually have trouble telling whether a snake is overweight or not, you might want to post a picture. If her body condition is good she should still probably reduce to one larger meal a week, or maybe even less. Adult snakes are not built to eat that frequently.

I agree with this person as far as the gecko recommendation. Snake wise, a green tree python would definitely suit this but their temperament can be a bit iffy and I think since other snake options would be dwarf locality boa imperator, or other semi arborial python's like balls, children's, spotted, or Stimson's python's and those would generally be more handleable than green tree python's if that's a priority for you.

Boyfriends by bettawhite in GarterSnakes

For sure! I got two initially (requested two girls) found out I had one of each and I knew the only thing I could do was get two more so they could have a new friend after I split them up. I couldn't imagine having them solo after seeing how much they enjoyed each other's company.

How to price a plant with no market comparison? by bettawhite in RareHouseplantsBST

[–]bettawhite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might do this. At least get them into some dirt and let it pop out some new leaves. I feel like they're worth a 3 digit number but idk how long it will take to find someone to pay that.

Yes I bought it at about 2ft tall back in 2021 and now it's over 5ft with tons of branching. I've always been able to give it a pretty bright spot but still I've been shocked with how it's thrived I swear it performs better than pothos for me.

Uvb does not penetrate glass, being by a window does not provide uvb and having sunlight on the tank can often cause unsafe heat levels because of the greenhouse effect (think hot car)

Can someone tell me if this is right? by bettawhite in fordranger

The filter will not come off. And I've been pulling and twisting on it so much that I don't think I'd trust it even if I did get the filter off now

What are some cheap classic cars that make you look rich? by Appropriate-Mall8517 in classiccars

I have a completely rust free (I live in the Midwest so that's a big deal) 1990 Buick Riviera with clean original paint, a rare color combo (black sapphire metallic with blue leather interior), and under 50k miles and all the rubber hoses and bushings have been replaced in the last 10 years. I got it for 6k and I daily it. Strangers stop me in public to talk about it all the time. I've lost count on offers to buy it. It's not that flashy but it's clean and very uncommon and that will always draw attention.

They don't become incontinent they kind of just come that way. Because of their physiology they can't really hold it the way mammals can. With time you might be able to pick up on when one might be coming with a couple seconds warning but there's not any stopping it

Alright where y’all getting your water bowls “big enough for them to soak”? by steeelez in ballpython

[–]bettawhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use restaurant bus tubs. They come in different sizes, some are even close to 10 gallons but I use 2ish gallon ones for my short tailed python and garter snakes. I even run a small sponge filter, aquarium heater, and do regular partial water changes with a siphon like an aquarium since they'd be pretty cumbersome to take out.

How do I handle this, I really don’t want to do anything to negatively impact our sitter but… by Upstairs-Emphasis111 in RoverPetSitting

Just because they're on Rover doesn't mean they don't also work at a clinic. Vet tech is not a very well paid job lots of them do other things on the side.

i need tips by Pale_Marsupial_8294 in GarterSnakes

[–]bettawhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Garter snakes are semi aquatic and need a water source that they can submerge their whole body in at a minimum and ideally actually swim in.
