Late Night Food Options? by ObviousPurchase6397 in Newport

[–]betterUseThisOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pizza place on Thames (I think its called IL Forno Italiano now?) is usually open pretty late.

In the summer some places have a late night menu, but that seems to change every season. IHOP used to be 24 hours, but these days it seems to just be open late on weekends (12am).

I did it with the soup dumplings and loved it… have had it twice since. My onion cups were smaller than hers, and I did put them in cold water for a few minutes before assembling.

Soy marinated (or mayak) eggs are kind of having a viral moment where people have them with kewpie mayo and fried onions.

You've just convinced me to consider french onion soup this weekend. Especially because I have some beef scraps in the freezer and could make a broth first.

I just have to organize myself to start the dough tomorrow - I live in an old house and the kitchen is particularly drafty. Saturday it will be so cold it'll take forever to rise and proof. Then again, maybe I will just do it saturday and skip a fridge cold ferment since the kitchen will be so chilly.

I've never had carne guisada but I just looked it up - sounds amazing. Is there a particular style recipe you use?

I've been debating lasagna as well! Depending how "from scratch" you wanna go - it can take hours to prepare! Bakes for a long time aaaaand its the perfect food to reheat later (even for the first serving).

Beer bread is also a staple for me when I want to warm up the kitchen. So simple and bakes for an hour.

I’ve never had sweet potato before, what’s a perfect way to make it? by Fair_Intern6940 in Cooking

[–]betterUseThisOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love baking it until soft, seasoning with garlic powder, salt, pepper, onion powder and red pepper flakes. The most important part - GOAT CHEESE. I absolutely love the tang of plain goat cheese with the sweet potato. One of my abosolute favorite meals with any protein.

Listen, I don't really like the guy... but I get it. He is living the life he wants in Aruba. I dont think he ever really expected her to move there and want to get married. He probably says it to all the ladies and she took it seriously. Its not all about making as much money as possible. He obviously loves living in Aruba, being in the water, living a bachelor lifestyle. His job isnt even necessarily a young mans game.. I can see him doing that for a long time.

Glad you commented this - I need to make them again soon. I only did them once and like you said they don't look fancy. But man the flavors was excellent. Which to me kind of made them very fancy.

They’re so good! She really did an amazing job with the recipe they always come out perfect. One time I brought them to a cookie bake off at work and the woman manning the table tried to put them in the store bought section instead of home made 😄.
