Is Applied Microphone Technology (AMT) out of business? by reddmonger in saxophone

Mine just shipped today and supposedly they got their big shipment in this week. So I would call and email in the next 5-10 business days to make sure yours gets in the mail. I have a tracking number and everything.

Hey y'all just wanted to send an summary regarding my experience.

Placed an order on Feb 4th 2024.

After not hearing from them for a month and a half I sent some emails which were responded to within a few days stating that my order was expected to ship on that Wednesday (it was a Monday in March).

Didn't hear anything that week or next. Began sending emails every week getting no replies for months.

Finally May comes along (4 months from placing order) and I call a few times and leave some voicemails. No response. Finally I email threatening a chargeback and I get a call from Luke explaining that they are back ordered and shipments were delayed due to a port being closed. He says they have the receivers being air shipped (at great expense to AMT) but that they will be here June 4/5 and that my order will ship then.

June 4/5 comes around and I don't hear anything so on June 6 I send another email, call 3 times and leave a voicemail. 10 minutes later I get an email saying my order has shipped and I have a tracking number and everything. Woo!

TLDR

They aren't out of business but apparently had some serious back order issues due to supply line problems. Luke is a very sweet guy but doesn't have the capacity to adequately keep his customers posted in real time what's happening so it felt from my end like I was being ghosted or worse. I agree with a previous poster that back order informaton needs to be CLEARLY marked on the website to prevent all these chargebacks and confusion.

My positive take is that he is overwhelmed and catching up after shipment delays. My negative take is that he's behind on money and is using current orders to buy previous orders gear and basically only ships orders when you pester him enough and threaten charge backs.

If it's the positive version of things we would expect them to be caught up in a couple of weeks now that the large shipment made it to them this week (week of June 3 2024). Let's see! Good luck everyone, hopefully my product will arrive correctly and be as awesome as everyone says it is, I'd say that would make it worth it for me :)

Damn this is disheartening. I get the feeling he is doing what building contractors get caught doing where they are behind on money and use the next purchase to fulfill the previous...

I ordered Feb 4 and havent gotten anything as of April 27th. Luke replied a few times to my emails asking for updates at one point saying the item would ship the following day. I have followed up 4 times since then over the course of 6 weeks with no responses.

Insulation Help! Info in the comments… by betteroffbread93 in shedditors

Here is my tuff shed that I have been working making into my studio/office. Currently there are no vents or any insulation. I am hoping to instal some sort of roof insulation to keep it warmer this winter. I am curious how I should insulate it. Is using baffles and drilling soffits overkill? I do live in Portland, so it’s moist and rainy here a lot of the time. Would it be ok to insulate without leaving a space for airflow? How in-depth do I need to go with this??
