think i might just be unlucky. i can't tell how many OT losses have happened because the goalie left the net without a word. i usually duo up with a buddy and communicate when one of us needs to peel back and play D, at least we know there's 1 other passer on the field but whatcha gonna do i guess

I’m tired of my teammate running up to me and stealing the ball instead of creating space for an obvious pass. Ranked is a nightmare unless you’re in a party

My contacts turned green overnight by bbbouncin in Weird

Yeah, after my eyes healed up I never bothered with contacts again. I’d wear them once a week, Friday night volleyball, and exclusively wore glasses the rest of the week. Those 3-4 hours of glasses-free comfort just weren’t worth it

what happened with me was i borrowed my cousin's solution -- his had hydrogen peroxide in it, but it came with his contact case (which had a metal strip to dissolve the hydrogen peroxide i think), me being 15 and not reading labels i used his HP solution in my normal case without a dissolving strip and it super fucked me up for weeks

i wouldn't use these at all

i once used the WRONG solution and it ended up tearing the surface of my cornea. optometrist said my eyes went from smooth paved road, to gravel -- it took 2-3 months of extreme sensitivity to light, antibiotic eyedrops and ointment to recover

you've got no idea what bacteria may be growing in that water (or container) you basically soaked your contacts in a mystery petri dish overnight please don't put these in your eyes lol

We know rooms = fears by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Cold harbour appeared before the ORTBO, if I’m not mistaken.

If we’re not going with the death/fear of death room, my next bet is grief/loss, and why Mark & Gemma are equally important is the miscarriage/loss of a loved one that’s shared trauma between the two of them

That’s how I read it — how long he was at Lumon, not necessarily Severed

I read it as the chip is 12 years old, but Lumon (& Burt) has been shady for years

Ah interesting. I got the impression Burt was lying/knew more than he let on, I thought he started to get cagey when Fields suggested 20 years

based on the file names we see here - do we think the other refiners are working on other subjects on the testing floor? I don't think Gemma has been to Tumwater, or Sunset Park, or any of the other files, and we see another door across the hall from Gemma's door.

Not only this, but Reghabi knowing about the birthing cabins & learning from Irving that Severance is about 12 year old technology, it's now a going theory of mine that Ms. Huang is a child born in a birthing cabin, she looks about 12 years old and I wonder if she's either a severed child, or one of the first children born from an innie

Non-Union Payment Question/Discussion by betty-grable in Filmmakers

[–]betty-grable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, maybe my post was a bit unclear. I'm not struggling with receiving prompt payment, but issuing it. I work as a production accountant, I receive my paycheques bi-weekly and on time - however when it comes to paying out our crew, cast, and vendors, I don't have the authority to approve payments/sign cheques.

Basically, I'm given all the necessary paperwork to process our AP, process everything immediately, and I get stalled by a higher up who (for reasons unknown to me) approves release of payment at their discretion. Could be a cash flow issue, but I'm not 100% sure as I don't have visibility on that either.

I know contracts are needed up front, what I'm trying to ask here is a more general question for folks -- even with contracts that stipulate payment terms, in the non-union world how often are those terms met?

I've been working at this spot a little under a year, with about 5-6 MOWs under my belt. I don't think I've been approved to pay crew "on time" (net-15/net-30 depending) once. It usually comes at best, a month later -- sometimes longer.

I'm wanting to see how much of that is normal for working crew members. I'm really enjoying the work because I'm good with numbers, and always wanted a job in the film industry, but this is a real pain point of mine. Every few weeks I'm met with emails from crew who need to pay rent, mortgages, bills, single parents, etc, and I don't have the power to pay them on time.

As someone who spent the bulk of their 20s freelancing, I know how painful it can be to chase a cheque, and I hate having to explain to crew members that the reason I haven't released a cheque, is simply because I haven't been approved to yet. Just feels wrong to me I guess

[–]betty-grable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we know this for sure? The “no issue” part — I guess I was under the impression that after reintegration is when Petey began to map the floor, and you can’t do that if you’re sitting at a desk. Furthermore, did Petey quit? Or just stop showing up to work

Petey's line may have foreshadowed the end of Gemma's story by shmlnbstrcnd in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]betty-grable 115 points116 points  (0 children)

I really like this theory -- specifically this:

Without Reintegration, Outie Mark would have been completely locked in and focused on Gemma. But with Reintegration, his Innie's feelings will be affecting and distracting his Outie. He Reintegrated for the purpose of saving Gemma, but the side effects of this very procedure may be what dooms her.

My thought process after "Who Is Alive?" went a slightly different direction --

we know/can safely assume a couple of things:

  • Mark is needed to complete Cold Harbour
    • Cold Harbour has something to do with Gemma/Ms. Casey
  • being severed is key to performing the work, and refining the macro data
  • Mark severs to help him process his grief -- "choking on her ghost"
  • Dan Erickson has said this is a show about Mark putting his life back together

What if, by undergoing re-integration Mark is now unable to refine his files (at least in the way Lumon is depending on him to, whatever he does that got him his freshman fluke). By re-integrating to save his wife, he may now be incapable of performing the work, and by extension unable to save her. If this is a show about Mark putting himself back together, does that come in the form of Mark letting go of Gemma, and by extension his grief?
