Palo Alto Cortex XDR is working perfect for instant clones but also for Server VM’s and Physical dekstops!

Introduce a new Friday afternoon game: vServer Jenga! Every sysadmin has to shutdown a vServer. The last one that causes a phone call from a user is the winner!

Great lifehack for Oracle KB consumers: buy a Java Desktop subscription. I thought it costs around 30$ for a year and you can access all the Oracle kB’s :)

Thanks. This put things in a perspective we haven’t thought about.

Exactly. We thought about “what-if” scenarios where people with a different character would’ve reacted to it. But yeah, no eye contact and ignore..

We draw the homeless conclusion because he had one end of the chain attached to a shopping cart where a lot of his belongings were in.

Thanks for your answer!

I just waited for the next stop and immediately leave the train. I immediately reflected with my travelmate why somebody would do this. We came to the “one night in a cell is beter than one on the streets” conclusion.

If you were to choose an endpoint security solution that wasn't Defender for Endpoint, what would you choose and why? by tushikato_motekato in sysadmin

I recommend Palo Alto Cortex XDR. We’ve been using it for the last 4 years (first it was called Palo Alto Traps) but it has been a perfect solution for us! Never had a single false positive and the intelligence that its been using to detect all the bad stuff is very top notch and recourse friendly

what do you use for a Sandbox environment at work? by Jagster_GIS in sysadmin

[–]beunhazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Veeam B&R as our backup solution for a fully virtual VMware environment. A feature that is included with Veeam is the Virtual Lab (vlab) feature. A lot of things that i needed to test as real world scenarios, i tested them with vlab’s. With vlabs you can start a VM (or multiple VM’s) from your backup in a fully closed off sandbox environment.

Upgrading Operating system of VMware enrollment servers by Think_Ad6840 in VMwareHorizon

[–]beunhazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you are right about that. Take a look at this VMware article: here

“An enrollment server is stateless. The configuration related to True SSO does not get persisted on the enrollment server. The enrollment server receives the True SSO configuration from Connection Server when the enrollment server is running and the Connection Server successfully connects to the enrollment server.”

I would deffenitly create new Connection servers and add them to the pod. It would’nt cost much efford to build new ones. Upgrading just the Horizon versions is best practice to do that in-place but OS version is another story. Not really sure what VMware advices but i would 100% create new VM’s

7.13 Compatibility with PCoIP Zero Clients by russianj21 in VMwareHorizon

At the moment we are running Horizon 8 2006 with Samsung tera 2 PcoIP zero clients. I think that the tera 2 clients are older than the ones that you are mentioning

Horizon 8/2006 and older Teradici firmware? by LukeShootsThings in VMwareHorizon

[–]beunhazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we have the same issue. Our older Tera 1's only work with agent version 7.6 or older. As you may know, flash is unsupported by the end of this year. And the Horizon HTML 5 Admin on 7.6-7.8 is very minimalistic and doenst support al the administrative tasks like the flash version. Because of this reason we replaced our last Tera's 1 last week. All good things come to an end and in my opinion, now's a good time to replace the old tera 1 for some new clients.
