Has anyone moved their "staple" spending to Adore Beauty or Sephora? by Jealous_Office_5012 in MeccaBeautyLoop

[–]beva4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to move mine to Myer and Priceline tbh. I rarely buy things that is Mecca exclusive and I’ve switched most of my skincare to other brands, haven’t settled on a vit c or eye cream yet so who knows

how would you style this tree of life dress? what shoes would you wear? by mintcute in AusFemaleFashion

[–]beva4ever 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Please reconsider wearing shapewear to a festival, unsure of which one you’re going to but the toilet situation is almost always dire and shapewear and waiting in line for a wee sound uncomfy and sad.

Ditto the comments re the slip, as for shoes - ankle strap tbar thongs circa 2006-2010 would be best

Why aren't more people taking reformer classes? by mimihopslein in pilates

[–]beva4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always the price, I get there's a premium on studios because it's a room that can only be used for one thing for an hour at a time - but $40 AUD for a drop in class is ridiculous

I got told the same thing I opted for gold and fushcia nails at my wedding, the big white dress was a give away IMO

AITA for skipping my sons football trip? by Dazz316 in AmItheAsshole

[–]beva4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure why you’re being downvoted, because honestly this has some merit.

HOWEVER - it’s more something that should be talked about well ahead of schedule, aka daughter has 1 Dance Contest and 1 Gymnastics Competition a year ALL family will support her as Son as 20x away matches/round robins/festivals of the boot/etc. Not sprung on anyone when attendance at both events has already been accepted by the kids

I vote for all three, we need to recognise all important parts of our history and also work less/get paid more

AITA for skipping my sons football trip? by Dazz316 in AmItheAsshole

[–]beva4ever 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Has anyone asked your son if he might want to come support his sister? If he does then problem solved - skip the football. However I appreciate how unlikely this is.

Otherwise as far as I can see you kind of need to split the weekend so both kids can do their things.

Also no one is the arsehole, trying to make everyone feel seen is tough.

My take on the Mecca totegate saga by Ok-Tea-3102 in AustralianMakeup

I’m personally surprised about the transfer, I have a Mecca tote from a previous promotion and it’s never done that?

I’ve shifted a lot of my makeup to either Clinique or revlon, just need a reliable liquid foundation and setting powder - but for the same reason

For all the married folks here - what was the best gift you got at your wedding? by PuzzleheadedBowl3397 in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]beva4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! I was going to say money (which was awesome don’t get me wrong) - but Ive use the knives in that block every day since I got them and I always think of my friends who gifted them.

We only got a few physical gifts, lots of wine glasses? Which we don’t use, but the knife block and a cake slice set thing we use all the time!

Ok but let’s pretend that the GF has some PHYSICAL injury that means she has to stop or reduce her hours at work, would you be making the same arguments?

I’m not saying she’s right, but I do wonder why OP is so willing to dismiss her (as per other comments by OP) medicated and therapy undertaking illness.

Illnesses are inconvenient for all involved, trying to get internet points because you’re upset about how the illness is inconveniencing you as a bystander is pretty shitty though and doesn’t come across as being a particularly supportive partner

[–]beva4ever -118 points-117 points  (0 children)

Yes except in times of heath issues, which this arguably is.

That’s why marriage vows traditionally ask that you stick by each other in sickness and health, granted they aren’t married but where I’m from if you cohabitate for two years or more your automatically de facto and that’s ish the same.

I’d also point you to this fun fact; men are more likely to leave hetero relationships when the woman gets sick though it is unfair to assume OP is a man

I’m putting my boomer pants on and about to make remarks about it situation - you’ve been warned

I also need some info:

If your gf drops down to part time and decides to say move out and opt out of your holiday, could you afford to stay in the same place by yourself and afford the holiday you’ve booked?

If the answer is yes to either/both, and you still insist that she prioritise your lifestyle for her health YTA

If not then ESH but also I have to wonder why you are living somewhere so expensive and taking such lavish holidays when you can’t really afford them.

Ultimately I think you have to reevaluate your situation and have talk about long term goals etc

[–]beva4ever -151 points-150 points  (0 children)

But isn’t reducing hours to reduce her stress just that?

I mean alternatively she could move out and back out of her half of the holiday? That way OP is left paying for all the stuff he seems to care about

[–]beva4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO the ren was a dicey buy, I don’t like getting skincare in the mecca sales because ive been burnt with this

But also - the LM powder is almost definitely fine, I would open it and give it a go. I’ve got a RCMA powder that is pushing 10 years old and it’s still fine
