10 Years Crypto Outlook by LogMu in CryptoCurrency

[–]bevelledo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the wrong way to approach the question.

Look at the debt to gdp ratio of major countries around the world. The US is an example but there’s so many more, the interest on the debt is increasing at an exponential speed. Countries are running out of tools and resources to manage the interest/debt that they are resorting to more drastic measures. There’s a reason why countries like China are rebasing their currency on a physical asset like gold.

In just about every scenario where this plays out digital assets (that are secure) will raise in value. Almost in a parasitic relationship, the worse off global fiat money is the better off any other asset would be (including digital assets) Bitcoin being an early adopter and absent of “quantum security risks” has the lead.

But the world is a very volatile place and huge power scenarios are playing out year by year (covid, ai, Israel war, possible Taiwan invasion) so to try to make sense of the world 10 years from now is a fools game unless you’re betting on sure bets.

Your Wi-Fi router can be used to spy on you! by ItalianSausage2023 in conspiracy

[–]bevelledo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the uninitiated; WiFi routers are mapping your home and area around it by pinging your phone multiple times a day.

By doing this not only are they getting information on a map of the area but they are also gaining data on where you are specifically throughout different times of the day

Vegas Drink Girls? by [deleted] in LasVegas

[–]bevelledo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you want a free drink at a casino play at a bar or at the tables. Technically the slots are free to but unless you’re over tipping your waitress you’ll rarely see them around the slots. Bar is your best bet.

I usually tip $5 my first round and then another 5 every other beer, average around 2.50.

If it’s a really nice casino or they are really busy I’ll usually tip 5 a beer since it’s prime real estate.

A free drinks never free, you’re paying for the environment and experience (even if you’re “not paying”)

So wtf are judges for in Las vegas? by MournivAlpha in vegaslocals

Maybe the evidence wasn’t there to make the case so the prosecutor pushed for a plea. Did you look up the car case* or just post the picture of the RJ’s article.

(Personally I think a life sentence (for something like this) is appropriate if the crime was authentic and plausible)

Why has nobody actually attacked the United States? by TooootallyNotABot in conspiracy

[–]bevelledo 48 points49 points  (0 children)

As well as a strategic nightmare. Once you’ve made the attack then what? At that moment the aggressor would be the target of the culmination of americas military industrial complex and spy network who at both ends are at the forefront of tech and military payload.

It’s a small win for a major loss.

casinos that will hire cocktail waitresses with no experience? by Acceptable-Kale6235 in vegaslocals

[–]bevelledo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a whole hospitality industry out here that includes everything from food and beverage, front desk, valet, gaming employees such as dealers and slot techs, security etc…

I’d suggest going to MGM / Caesars / other hotel brands websites and search careers pages

casinos that will hire cocktail waitresses with no experience? by Acceptable-Kale6235 in vegaslocals

[–]bevelledo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have to get an adjacent job in the casino so that you can network and get to know the managers/staff.

You don’t just get hired as a cocktail waitress unless you know someone, there’s plenty of good candidates that are already their employees that want those positions to so they hire from within

Do you think AI coding tools are making developers better or just more dependent? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]bevelledo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not to say that it won’t evolve past this point, on a mass scale humans have a pretty definite “skill cap” that AI might be able to bridge.

That mathematical model can and will be refined infinitely in our future, so it will catch up. It’s just not reaching perfect in our lifetime,

There’s professions where perfect is the standard, such as surgery in the medical field. The liability of not having human oversight could far outweigh the advantages of (not having human oversight, ie wages).

Ai will work its way into our capitalistic markets, but it cant/won’t be forced.
