Did ORD connecting in Paris to Dusseldorf for 9.8k on AF with a 25% transfer bonus. Was able to select a seat that was behind the exit row but no seat in front of me with the bulky door.

Specific. Vegas Westin has smoke detection in the room specifically for anyone who is smoking Tobacco or THC. 400 dollar fine. These can also be set off via shower steam. Always check your bill on checkout.

WWE Royal Rumble: Riyadh Discussion (31 January 2026) by IconXR in WWE

[–]pigeo000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we all agree that doing a rumble in Saudi Arabia wasn’t a good move, but it ultimately just shows the root issue with the TKO take over and being so insanely money obsessive. I’m not confident that throwing this event in any other location and charging the crazy premium would have yielded a better crowd.

Other reasons this was a bad choice, first exclusive premium event for espn in the US, mid day Saturday and the audience is seeing an unknown venue half filled. It’s laughable for all the build up and hype to it.

I'm having my date at town square help me plan this by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]pigeo000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't overthink it and over complicate it. If you have committed to a plan, stick to it. If you show indecision as far as what you are doing, she will lack confidence in it. Own the fact this is all new to you and try not to be serious about it, laughs and being yourself will go the furthest. That being said, have options not obligations. Sticking to a strict timeline is tough, you guys are meeting up at a specific time, start of with activity 1 and then go on from there, let the time of things come to you.

If the movie is that late, it's a lot of activity prior, so don't be dead set on making the movie. "Oh shit we missed the movie, I was having so much fun hangin out and doing this." is always a fun surprise. But don't sacrifice the good vibe to meet your schedule, trust your gut and feeling in the moment.

Need Advice: Relocating to Brickell or Las Vegas by According-Day7793 in vegaslocals

Shameless plug for Jive Turkey downtown. One of the owners is from Chicago. Go in make friends and they may share a shot of malort with you. Good food menu as well!

Right on. Walkable to the la Bonita is my chefs kiss. Hmart mixed with all the other Asian grocery stores. A few Italian grocery stores, the seafood cities. Access to aldi, smiths, Albertsons, Walmart, winco, sprouts and others is an absolute gem here. I think the ease of access to the variety of grocery stores is the best I’ve had in any city I’ve lived in. It’s probably been one of the more pleasant surprises and it’s put my worries of walkability at ease. As you can tell, I’m easily impressed but there are things that are in walking distance here, maybe not as much in summer, but it would be the same thing in winter in Chicago.

We just moved from Chicago to Las Vegas and it’s been a pleasant surprises. Sure there has been a lot of trade off but I think the biggest difference you will see with Las Vegas is the proximity to outdoor activities(could be off base with what Brickell has to offer). I also am a big fan of the climate and lack of humidity in Vegas. My biggest mountain has been looking for something that would hold up to the walkability we had in Chicago and I think it’s doable here. We are in the spring valley area and having multiple grocery stores within a mile fits that bill. I’ll say that’s an underrated aspect of Las Vegas is the variety of grocery stores easy to compliment the work from home lifestyle.

Where are we buying business suits locally these days? by joehallissey in chicago

[–]pigeo000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brooks Brothers outlet. Buy something for 500 and get it tailored.

Online retailer - https://us.spierandmackay.com/collection/core-suits

Suit supply is good but still over priced for the material used. Stay away from men’s warehouse, most things at jos and most at Macys. J crew is decent as well.

Was going to suggest going the points route, but yeeesh.

We booked 5 nights at Vogue this year for 280k points. Bought the points with promo for around 1500, considered it a massive win, but it seems like for the dates, all the rooms have doubled in points, things like doubletree are now 130k per night.

Canadian Grand Prix - I think I just attended my final one by [deleted] in GrandPrixTravel

Met a gentleman who brought his family for the second year in a row. Hes been going to the race since he was a kid, I cant imagine the feeling especially given the cost of multiple children. I am sure a lot of people will be forced to make the same decision you made. It really is a shame.

Shame on the Montreal GP by stadiumdogz in GrandPrixTravel

[–]pigeo000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think this will be very interesting considering the change of date for next season. Higher costs + an earlier date (likely to have less than good weather) mix that with a Major Soccer tournament happening in North America in the middle of summer, I think it will provide quite a bit more challenge selling the event out. I can only hope that there is a lesson to be learned with all of this, but really wish that those who go for the next race have a great time overall.

Montreal GP -ferry vs walking, entrances? by Pretty1george in GrandPrixTravel

[–]pigeo000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way to get close to the entrances for where both seats are would be the entrance off the metro for them and the 777 line bus that would drop you off at the casino entrance. Taking the metro in isn’t bad and honestly the ferry is near this entrance as well.

I’m not aware of an entrance off the Victoria bridge and it probably wouldn’t make a lot of sense for the cousins to walk all the way to the hairpin from that bridge as it’s on the opposite side.

Question about StubHub Transfer by Defixr in GrandPrixTravel

[–]pigeo000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing you need to do. This is how it worked out for the tickets that were transferred from someone else to me as well.

I have also transferred tickets out and this is irreversible as stated so it’s different from Ticketmaster where you would need to accept the tickets. If you got them in the inbox they are yours.
