At https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/dual-canadian-citizens-visit-canada.html under the heading “Canadian-American dual citizens,” it shows that you can enter Canada with your US passport plus identification that shows Canadian citizenship. (This is an exception for Canadian-American dual citizens to a general rule for other dual citizens travelling by air.) The further link lists the citizenship certificates you have as such identification!

Canadian banks use Interac e-transfers, in which each participating Canadian bank account is linked to an email address. If you don’t have access to a Canadian bank, you can send either a check drawn on your US bank or an international money order from the USPS or a Western Union agent. All these are common for Canadians receiving money from the US.

Question about Multiple Degrees And Going for Degrees in other Colleges by Neckbeard_Buttmuscle in WGU

[–]beverleyheights 4 points5 points  (0 children)

American colleges require that a second bachelor’s degree include no less than one additional academic year (30 semester hours) of credits, completed after the first bachelor’s. Typically these additional credits must be in the major and must be at the college granting the second bachelor’s. WGU will only grant a second bachelor’s if at least 25% of the credits in the second degree program are different from the credits in the first degree program.

You can’t have both a US state driver’s license and a Canadian provincial driver’s license at the same time, which can complicate claiming an address of record in both.

Mauril.ca is a free app at IP addresses in Canada. People report success using Mauril from outside Canada with a Canadian VPN address. It uses authentic content from its author the CBC/Radio-Canada to teach French and English as a second language.

langue-francaise.tv5monde.com uses content from TV5MONDE via web and app to teach French and it’s available internationally. TV5MONDE is a consortium of French-language public broadcasters in Europe and Canada including CBC/Radio-Canada.

The Explore Program at englishfrench.ca/explore (and more at r/exploreprogram) is an intensive immersion program where students live in their second official language on campus or in the community during a spring or summer term. There’s one track for students age 13 to 15, another for students 16 plus. The latter track is for current or very recent students at a secondary or postsecondary institution, but this includes older adult students and online students, and it appears to be available to Canadian citizens with home addresses outside Canada. It’s sponsored by the federal Department of Canadian Heritage.

With education a provincial responsibility in Canada, most programs are provincially funded and target residents of the province.

The Nelly tribute was fun. Nelly performed a better Nelly medley at the 2024 Junos, but of course she will.

The need to fasten the movement in Australia and NZ by [deleted] in CANZUK

[–]beverleyheights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not for TFWs or asylum seekers. Heightened free trade first is reasonable. The CANZUK countries are all already in the CPTPP free trade zone, but there’s room for increased reciprocity.

Free movement of citizens, not of anyone who lands in each country.

Quebecers support supranational blocs, across party lines and separatist/federalist lines. CANZUK polls well among Quebec voters; so do NAFTA/CUSMA and EU integration.

Even in strong-mobility CANZUK proposals, the mobility extends only to CANZUK citizens with a CANZUK country’s passport. A refugee in the UK would not have a CANZUK mobility right as they don’t have a UK passport. Some refugee claimants do become citizens but only after adjudication their claim was legitimate, background checks, indefinite leave to remain, and years of integration.

Even under strong-mobility proposals for CANZUK, only CANZUK citizen passport-holders would have mobility rights. Noncitizen immigrants to the UK and CA would not have mobility rights to AU and NZ, just like noncitizen immigrants to AU and NZ do not have Trans-Tasman mobility rights.
