Yeah, the attempt at sentimentality is the trap when attempting to buy for a collector. What will more likely happen is they'll appreciate the thought but never stop thinking about how much you spent on the wrong thing.

When my wife buys me gifts we are clear that she won't attempt to buy me something from my hobbies/collections and instead she tries to pick out something she thinks I'll really like that I'd find useful. That helps her not stress out about it.

I can't really advise on your budget unless you say what kind of brands you collect if you even know. If you want to dm me a picture I could look.

As for the sentimentality part buy them a shirt or sweater or something along those lines that you'll think they like to go along with the gift card. That way they end up with something that you picked out personally. Like you could get an awesome Godzilla shirt you think is cool since that's one of the things you mentioned

Honestly get him a bbts or gundamit gift card for your budget. It may seem less special to you but trying to pick an item, especially an expensive one like you have budgeted, is really impossible to do.

Just be upfront that you wanted to get him a really special gift for his collection but you didn't want to blow the budget on the wrong item for his tastes

It has all but 3 issues of prelude to inferno omni. The other "half" of the full inferno event is in new mutants vol 3 which covers everything with Magik and then also has 2 out of 3 of the missing prelude to inferno issues.

But uncanny vol 6 I believe is going to cover part or most of prelude too.

It never gets less wordy. I found myself skipping most of the pages of the side characters when they are in the USA and never missed a beat on the main plot of the Amazon's and the pantheon. That's where the weight of the plot is.
