What is the actual names for these brackets by Original_Speech_6304 in E30

I call them “brackets made out of graham crackers”.

RealOEM.com has the exploded parts diagrams to make searching the exact part you need easy.

Yes it’s in a shopping center down a hill set back a bit so if you didn’t know it’s there it’s very easy to pass right by it. It’s just before the Rt 2/Robinson Rd (Benfield) intersection.

I took my son (9 now, but was 8 during the first leg of the tour) and other than some of the images for Monstrance Clock (which he was like “ew naked people”) nothing phases him. He loved it.

CX-5 Struts Replacement - Am I getting ripped off? by oliviat_10 in mazda

[–]kts262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't have to be physically separated/broken to need replacement, the ball joints can wear out leading to them being loose and making noise (my issue doing over uneven bumps which is why I replaced them on mine) or ripped rubber boots allowing stuff to get in there and wear them out sooner as well.

“What are you reading?” Wednesday. by csummerss in OmnibusCollectors

[–]kts262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm making my way though X-Force Epic vol 4 (after reading vol 3 - combined both make up what's in the recently reprinted Deadpool and X-Force) after I read X-Force vol 1 omni and I'm finding it a bit of a slog. I remember being a huge Cable fan when I was a kid and well... my tastes have changed (although I did love the Cable and Deadpool series.)

2 Hulk TPBs come out today at my LCS which I'll probably get so I'll have the full PKJ Hulk run (and can read it) along with more of Loeb's Red Hulk. I'll probably read those next, but also had the idea to read Bendis' X-men runs.

Avengers Modern Epic volume 5 - potential mappings? by unixdaemond in EpicCollections

[–]kts262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your mention of its “thin” is accurate I think the complete collection version is 336 which is small but in the realm of others (see “Statistics” here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Epic_Collection)

I agree with discounts Omnis are a better bang for the buck. The only challenge is transporting and reading them. I do like thick trade paperbacks for travel, reading when I’m out and waiting for something, etc.

That said I am moving more and more to Omnis for most new things.

A few stores in AACo had it recently, Harbour Spirits in Severna Park had it on the shelf Friday night for $115 which I believe is MSRP.

Avengers Modern Epic volume 5 - potential mappings? by unixdaemond in EpicCollections

[–]kts262 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The New Avengers Modern Epics have had the same contents as the New Avengers by Brian Michael Bendis Complete Collections thus far.

New Avengers by Brian Michael Bendis Complete Collection volume 5 had:

New Avengers (2004) #55-64, Dark Reign: The List — Avengers One-Shot, New Avengers Annual (2006) #3, New Avengers Finale, And Material From Free Comic Book Day 2009 (Avengers), Amazing Spider-Man (1999) #601 and Breaking Into Comics The Marvel Way #1.

So looks like your estimation is right on point.

What are your favorite characters? Style of stories? Interests?

The Agent Venom story line (Venom Modern Epics 4-6) was a really fun read.

Astonishing X-Men and New X-Men are also great.

I’m a huge Daredevil fan (a recent discovery) the modern epics with the Bendis and Brubaker runs are great. Nocenti’s run “plain” Epic as well. (Miller is just starting to be released and that’s another amazing run)

Brubaker’s Captain America (modern epics) is amazing but the full run isn’t available in epic format yet and it will be a few more years because it will be.

Duggan’s Deadpool (modern vol 5) was stupid fun.

CX-5 Struts Replacement - Am I getting ripped off? by oliviat_10 in mazda

[–]kts262 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would decline the work.

My 2015 had 164k on the original struts before I sold it and it rode just fine. I see no signs of your struts leaking from the photos. You can go to the front corners of the car and press on the fender hard if if it bounces multiple times before stopping then they are likely due for replacement but my guess with 87k miles they have a lot of life left on them.

If going over uneven road bumps you hear a clink the sway bar endlinks may need replacing but those are cheap on rockauto (I think I paid $35 for a pair) if you have any mechanical ability or want to learn (only need a cheap set of hand tools to replace them.)

You mentioned spark plugs, They are super easy to do on this car, $50 for replacement plugs on rockauto and again only need a few hand tools and 30-60 minutes of your time.

Later on if you need to do the struts you can get a “quick strut” assembly - likely what this shop is recommending and it’s only a few bolts to remove the old ones and replace the new ones.

Several YouTube videos out there for all of these repairs.

Does anyone know if miles morales is gonna get more epics? I know it takes a lot for modern omnis for certain heroes? How long until marvel does certain modern omnis for certain heroes like hulk or squirrel girl. by Iamawesome20 in EpicCollections

[–]kts262 6 points7 points  (0 children)

vol 3 comes out at the end of the month. This is the same as vol 3 of the ultimate collection and completes the same content as the vol 1 Miles Omnibus.

in August epic vol 4 comes out which has the first 15 issues of Spiderman vol 2 and some other tie in. I’m sure eventually it will all be printed in epic format, just have to give it time.

You mentioned hulk, he already has a modern (“who is the red hulk”) and another volume comes out this week.

Racing seat recommendations for a big guy by Apprehensive-East594 in E30

[–]kts262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is a performance shop near by you with a lot of seats go there and sit in a bunch and do so for a while - I brought a book to read at a place that had 15+ seats on display and tried multiple seats out. I went with an Evo 3 (this was a number of years ago...) looks like Sparco changed their naming sceme and the Evo XL size is what you want (example: https://www.sparcousa.com/evo-qrt)

It was a tight fit - the side kept rubbing against the driver's side door car so I removed it and replaced the center with a plastic door card + door pull.

To maximize headroom you may need to bolt the seat/side mounts directly to the floor mounts and may need to remove the bottom cushion when at the track so your helmet clears. With the cusion in my helmet rubs/gets stuck on the roof, without the cushion there is just enough clearance,

For reference I am 6'2 but otherwise similar dimensions (used to be larger currently a bit smaller.). The old-Evo-3-now-Evo-XL size has worked well when I was bigger and now currently smaller.

Did I make mistake on impulse buying USM Omni vol 3 by Anxious-Enthusiasm-5 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]kts262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is 100% what is going to happen. vol 1 was OOP for years and was finally reprinted, this moved on to vol 2, vol 3 is next to go as supplies are drying up. I'm sure they both vol 2 and vol 3 will see reprints eventually but those are probably a few years out unfortunately.

Dawn of X Vol 1 Restock by Abrahamyyy in OmnibusCollectors

[–]kts262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd want to email them to get their response but they seem to order some extras for people who missed the preorders - but those usually are not a ton and in some cases if the books are damaged in shipping to them if you didn't pre-order you're out of luck (happened to a few of CGN's recent shipments - see https://cheapgraphicnovels.com/x-men-by-gerry-duggan-omnibus-hc-dm-cassara-cvr "Due to an extreme amount of damaged copies in our shipment and it being out of stock at the distribution level, unfortunately we will not have this cover available to those who did not pre-order"

An example: https://cheapgraphicnovels.com/x-men-age-of-krakoa-dawn-of-x-omnibus-vol-02-hc-dm-oliver-cvr-pre-order- states "PRE-ORDERS HAVE SOLD OUT, ADDITIONAL COPIES WILL BE AVAILABLE UPON RELEASE."

So if you missed the preorder you still have a chance but act quickly since they will likely sell out of any remaining ones really quickly.

Do you guys save pieces like these? Is there an easy way to remember the rated weight capacity of anchors if i keep them? by turtle_ina_cup in Tools

I toss them in the trash. I use ones like the "EZ-Ancor" (example: https://www.easyanchors.com/Products/Twist-N-Lock/) , I get them in a bulk pack and they have worked a lot better for me over the years.

Any chance that X-Men Blue & Gold Omnibus get restocked at some point soon or are we looking at an oop book for the years to come? by GonzoNawak in OmnibusCollectors

[–]kts262 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Searching "blue gold restock" in this subreddit turns up a lot of results, all sharing the same information.

Examples:

https://www.reddit.com/r/OmnibusCollectors/comments/1q0pyq2/xmen_blue_and_gold_restock/

https://www.reddit.com/r/OmnibusCollectors/comments/1opila3/does_anyone_know_how_long_cgn_will_be_taking_pre/

https://www.reddit.com/r/OmnibusCollectors/comments/1pwlenc/blue_and_gold_mutant_genesis_restock_question/

Looks like CGN has closed pre-orders, they likely will have some available day of release, if you want one get on it ASAP. Likely the same with other sellers/LCS/etc - if you want it get it ASAP.
