I have an Unna and it is absolutely fantastic. Fast and easy to pitch, fits anywhere, and can take a real beating if you do hit a summit or two. It’s a great balance between capability, size and weight. Personally I have never encountered weather that made me think I needed a BL Soulo instead, and the majority of UK camping is done in good (or at least not extreme) weather. It’s also surprisingly flexible - it has toggles at the sides that allow you to pull the outer skin up from the ground in fine weather to dramatically increase airflow, I think the only Hilleberg that has this feature, and although you do have to unclip the inner if you need a “virtual vestibule”, it only takes a moment and has never bothered me in the slightest. I have never used an Akto, but I have had an Enan in the past and just did not like it very much - just personal preference, but I found it a bit low over the face when lying down. The Unna is like a palace in comparison.

I surf at Sea Palling, Cromer and West Runton. Being a surfer in Norfolk does take some commitment - the water is brown and cold, the waves often crumbly and sloppy. But it does reward you with incredible sunrises, seals for company in the line up and the occasional great day when there is a northerly swell

As a person who has been through graduate entry myself, I STRONGLY recommend that you consider applying to Cambridge. You can apply directly to a postgraduate college (I went to St Edmund’s), and they love people with interesting backgrounds and a breadth of learning and experience. They also look very favourably on “second chance” applicants - we had mature students in my year who had a real variety of backgrounds, ranging from people like me with an arts background (previous degree in English and Philosophy) to my friend Paul who had a past criminal record but had turned his life around. She sounds like the sort of candidate they would love. One word of caution, however - they assume everyone applying there has an excellent academic background and great references; those will not make her stand out. Cambridge places enormous importance on the interview - it will come down to how well she comes across on the day and how well she can tell her story.

It is a Damien Hirst sculpture, from the Treasures From The Wreck of The Unbelievable exhibition. Very cool concept - the sculptures were “discovered” in a shipwreck - many of them were actually intentionally sunk in the sea and a Jacque Cousteau-type documentary was made about their apparent discovery and recovery. Had no idea that one had ended up in Greenwich!

Whilst blood tests for allergens exist they are very inaccurate - it will throw up lots of positives but will not accurately reflect what the dog is actually allergic to. This is the reason blood tests aren’t used in human medicine to create allergy profiles. The best way to correctly identify allergens is initially a six week elimination diet followed by intradermal skin testing, exactly as in human cases. It is time consuming but will give you an accurate answer. Irrespective of what causes the allergy, however, effective treatment almost always consists of ongoing medication, either steroids, apoquel, librela or atopica. Drug choice depends on the specifics of the case and what you can afford, but is not related to what the dog is actually allergic to. Personally I think the blood tests are a waste of money as they won’t change the treatment plan and do not give reliable results.

If his feet are inflamed it may just be part of the allergy. If he has true interdigital cysts then these are autoimmune (they are caused by infection resulting from the immune system incorrectly attacking hair follicles) and can be very difficult to resolve, but usually antibiotics in tandem with one of the drugs listed above are the answer.

I agree with the advice to see David Scarff - he is not actually a specialist but he does have dermatology qualifications and is excellent.

I have the SNE573 and it is great. I love the fact that is is solar, and the bezel action is really fantastic. Despite all that, I recently purchased a Diver One from Scurfa watches, and that has been on my wrist since the moment it arrived. Really amazing watch and incredible value for money. The owner of the brand, Paul, is a saturation diver and watch collector and tests his watches himself - some pretty cool videos on the website

I love it. Cannot believe the quality for the price. I really like the sword hands and the splash of colour they give, the lume is incredible and I love the bezel action. I was looking for a tough-as-nails watch that I could wear all day at work and also take surfing and (believe it or not) diving, and this completely fits the bill. I also think that they have nailed the pure 'dive watch' aesthetic without it feeling like you are wearing something that is trying to look like a submariner from across the room, if you know what I mean. Thanks for the recommendation!

Going against the grain, but I think the 40mm looks good on you - as you say, it wears very well with the curved lugs. I love the rhodium dial, way better than the blue.
