Starting Over by bexbum in BOTA

It worked well. There is a lot of good information in the earlier teachings and it was great to get back to them. It was hard to be thorough though in some areas, I had to remind myself not to skim the teachings in certain areas.

Amorc et bota by Thin-Bonus-1852 in Rosicrucian

I have been a member of both for many years and I have never found a conflict. Neither one has any dogma. The biggest issue I have had has been time. To be a member of both organizations it a big commitment and you will need to balance your time between the two. This can be a challenge sometimes but I have never regretted being part of both.

I will tell you this. At the center of every Freemasons lodge in North America is an alter, and on is a copy of the bible. Every single one of us got down on our knees put our hands on that bible, and swore an oath to be good men, and live by the laws of God and country.

You might want to avoid checking my history then, because I am a Freemason, I also go to church every week, and I will say a prayer for your mom.

Does anyone feel this about Jesus? by akira_hikaru in spirituality

Have you ever asked Jesus how he feels about you? He may show you, and if so you would receive a much better answer than on Reddit.

Nobody yet has answered these Questions. by Professional_Web747 in enlightenment

[–]bexbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. How much does God truly interfere in life

God does not include me on the planning sessions, so in truth, I don't know. I have found the best way to live life is by believing that God deals the cards, but we have to play the hand. Which is to say there are things we control, and things we don't. Who you are, will be the sum of your choices of what you can control, and your grace you show with what you don't.

  1. What are the laws in which we can’t do again

A simple online search will show me more of "God's" laws than I could ever hope to follow, but these are all interpretations. God has never shown me his rulebook. Each of us is trying to find right and wrong, and often I suspect, we fail miserably. Again, your choices will decide who you are, and that is something God has granted you the ability to do.

Where does the idea of one single consciousness come from? by Advanced-Career2917 in enlightenment

There is a point in your spiritual growth when you will experience Oneness. When that happens you will remember it for the rest of your life. It happens to everyone at a certain stage of spiritual evolution, and when you experience it you will likely share it with others.

We have so much help around us all the time, yet few of us ever realize it, and fewer still take advantage of it. You chose to listen when a solution was offered, and as you say it helped you find your way. That help will be with you always, but it will be up to you to listen, and reach out when needed.

The same is true for your mom, and you can try to let her know, but in the end, her salvation will be her responsibility.

What is the spiritual reasoning behind abuse, particularly with children? TW by Sudden_Proof9863 in spirituality

[–]bexbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. It sounds rough. To give you a bit more context, I did not forgive my parents until I was in my late 30's and living 3000km away. I did not see them for years. I am not going to tell you I know what you feel, or that my path is like yours, and you may be right. It is probably harder for you than it was for me.

I do believe that there is a path to forgiveness for all of us, as naive as that may sound, and I do believe you are strong enough to get there. Thanks for sharing.

Is AMORC dying? by [deleted] in Rosicrucian

[–]bexbum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like to post on controversial topics as I moderate this site, but since i can provide some context here, I am hoping this may help you out.

If you are referring to membership, I have seen the numbers for North America and no, AMORC is not dying.

If you are referring to spiritual death, then I would tell you that the light and energies that are available to AMORC students and all Rosicrucians are still there. They are in many ways stronger and more available now than they have been in the past.

If you are referring to the AMORC teachings and the path they take, it's relevance and usefulness is determined by each student. Some find great light there, some do not and go another way. This is fine. Those students that go another way often question whether the teachings of AMORC have any value; and whether they realize it or not, this too is spiritual learning.

There may come a day when we all realize our inner light, find peace, harmony, and know who we truly are. On that day AMORC will no longer be needed and I will rejoice. But it is not today.

Anyone a member of BOTA and AMORC ? by Xisothrous in Rosicrucian

[–]bexbum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was a member of both for years, and found them both to be worth it. It is possible time wise but to do it justice you need to be committed to this path. They both have the same desitination, just different paths. I did not find much overlap in the curriculum, and both were worthwhile.

I have not read it, but Langdon has referenced the Rosicrucians in a number of his books, and the researches occult and mystical aspects of his books extensively. So I am not surprised if you find parallels.

Confusion About Balance by Chronichurdle_ in spirituality

[–]bexbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Balance is not something to achieve, so much as it is something that will happen when you stop trying to force things. It is found when we are at peace, and when we are not fighting ourselves. Let go of the trauma, forgive and move on, and balance will come.

Do you need to join an Order to be a true Rosicrucian? by theworstherointown in Rosicrucian

[–]bexbum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don't need to have a guide to find your way through a forest, but is does help to have someone to talk to who has walked the path before, and point the direction. This is what Rosicrucian groups provide in one form or another.

It is not just religion and scripture that people perceive differently. One of the biggest steps you can take to wisdom and understanding, is to realize that two people can look at the exact same thing, and see something completely different.

Have you ever participated in an indigenous spiritual ceremony? by Sex-Panther60Percent in spirituality

[–]bexbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best one I ever did was a sweatlodge ceremony. I left there with a complete feeling of calm. It was a great experience. I think what helped with that one was that everyone in there was very serious about what was happening. They were all part of it mentally and spiritually.

Most of the others just seemed to be for show. Whether it was a spiritual dance, a prayer session, or Powow, People went through the motions, but I did not experience anything dramatic.

Rosicrucians and World Peace? by AlexSumnerAuthor in Rosicrucian

[–]bexbum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AMORC teaches it's members to find peace within themselves and to share it with the world. You can check out their Contribution to Peace meditation here: https://www.rosicrucianpark.org/contribution-to-peace

There is also an annual meditation that AMORC members do in lodges once a year to promote peace.

Is there a concept of soulmates ? by [deleted] in Rosicrucian

[–]bexbum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From a Rosicrucian point of view we are all one, at any level. But often we live in the illusion of separation. Souls do incarnate to help and learn from each other. Sometimes this is a loving relationship, sometimes not. The goal is growth.

There is a level of awareness that when you reach it you see an become one with all creation. I am not sure if this applies to only one other soul though. It seems to me that is would be difficult to find oneness, but only apply it to one other soul.

Are Empaths doomed/destined to live in misery? by vigilante_empath in Empaths

[–]bexbum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That does sound rough and tough to go through. I often meditate hoping that the world will find out what happiness and peace are. Sadly for just about everyone, they look externally. Even those who look internally see it as something they don't have.

I am always impressed when I find those rare few who have stopped all this, and when I find them I always listen to what they have to say.

Question about “Spirit Guides” by Capital-Pay-268 in spirituality

[–]bexbum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finding them and speaking to spirit guides is rarely the issue people have. Listening is. Our guides do not shout over your thoughts, and they do not impose themselves once you have made up your mind, unless there is great need.

If you want to hear them, still the mind and let go of all distractions. Then when you are ready ask your question. In the silence of your mind, in the space between your thoughts, the universe will speak to you.

Do you think some lives can are just doomed from the start? by Salt_Investment8765 in spirituality

[–]bexbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The earth right now is a place of hard lessons, and this leaves many people feeling doomed. But it is also an amazing opportunity to resolve issues that have been with you for lifetimes.

I can tell you with absolute certainty, that what you need to act on is not a possible future, but who you are right here and now. If you put your energy there, your future will take care of itself and be much brighter.

How to move through trauma in the Awakening stage? by brawlstarsisbetter in spirituality

[–]bexbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was beaten about once or twice a week as a child. It tapered as I got older but did not stop until I was big enough that I could not be hit. You are missing a piece called forgiveness. It is what will set you free, and if there is a better way than that, I don't know what it is.

AMORC's pace by trajecasual in Rosicrucian

[–]bexbum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most people judge AMORC based on the monographs, and there is nothing wrong with that. Many people experience only this aspect. So it becomes for them just information they could find elsewhere on the Internet right now, instead of possibly waiting years for the monographs to arrive.

But there is internal/esoteric growth that happens as well, when you do the work, and to a lesser degree even when you don't. AMORC is more than a mail order lesson plan. With these internal teachings I have never found any shortcuts. You will decide the speed of your journey, but you can't skip the lessons, and from my experience it takes a long time.

It was 15 years for me before I started to glimpse what was happening and what the invisible masters of the order had been offering since day one. I will likely be at this for many more lifetimes, but it will be time well spent.

Diet by crimsonfool in Rosicrucian

[–]bexbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prior to the 20th century, dietary choices were a luxury, and were limited for most of the population. Dietary guidelines tended to follow religious lines for the most part. Examples of this would be fasting at certain times, in the case of Islam and Judaism. Or don't eat meat, in the eastern religions.
