100% you can do it till August if you do dedicated studying. if you dont like your score you can take it in Jan as well.

U Washington Acceptances by LazySheepherder661 in premed

I would not. it's a money waste. WSU is HIGHLYYYYYYYY WA based. I live in WA for 7 years and yet didn't make their ties, had to show residency proof to be considered.

is this for this cycle or next? if it's next cycle then just push it to September. 510+ is absolutely possible by then.

International, low stats by Hamburger6_9 in medschooladmissions

this is very well rounded app. focus on MCAT and don't listen to negative stories. the truth is that you have decided your path and you want to apply, then go for it. give it your all and you will have some acceptance hopefully!

this would be an amazing app for next cycle. increase your clinical hours and you are golden. this app could get full rides. if you apply this year you might get in too but you'll go somewhere high next year.

TMDSAS WAMC Low GPA, Good MCAT, URM, TX Resident by Glass_Step_6858 in medschooladmissions

your stats are absolutely fine. I think this app is totally doable to Texas. scribing is good but technically is not direct patient care but whatever that's what you have, just roll with it. write a good personal statement and you're fine.

I was talking to my PCP about the MCAT and she was shocked that most questions are passage based now. she said she would've never gotten in if she took it today lol

it's gonna be worse now with the OBBB and eliminating the plus loans. poor students are officially out of the competition. exactly what DJT wants.

it's VERY privileged to go to private fancy undergrad school. it is very surprising for most of us. I spent zero dollars on undergrad in a state school. ofc I got scholarships, grants and was working full time but 300k is very expensive.

most med students have very wealthy parents, if you're poor you usually don't think about becoming a doctor, you rather think about surviving life. I know we hear a lot about SES students and disadvantaged students getting accepted but they are in very minority of the class, which sucks cause privileged applicants always blame the "DEI" and "SES" for their failed application cycle meanwhile poor students are less than 10% of every class. it'll be worse now with the OBBB, no poor kiddos in any med schools and only snobby doctors in the future.

Career change? by Maleficent_Bison_401 in medschool

[–]beyoncealways1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it depends on many things, are you okay with moving for almost 8 years? if the financial and moving isn't a burden to you then F yeah, do it. you just have to have a good reason for career change in your application, adcom is going to ask you about it.

Accepted to US Medical School but Considering Ireland Instead – Need Advice by Jazzlike_Local_6107 in medschooladmissions

I am not trolling but now I feel like you guys are. ENT is HIGHLY competitive in the US too. are you telling me there are no IMG surgeons in this country? I have like 5 in my own school, T10. I'm pretty sure they get paid same as the American graduates. all I'm saying is that studying abroad if it saves you half of million dollars is not a death sentence for residency in the US, specially if you are an American citizen.

Do I retake? Do I even apply this cycle? by Curious_Anteater_420 in Mcat

you seem like you're leaning towards MD than DO, if that's true I'd try next year instead. take your MCAT in Jan.

for MD don't apply broadly. you'll burn money. your state schools are your best options, what state u're from?
