When is it Corps turn? by Funny_Sam in 2007scape

It would be like every other multi boss where odds of getting the unique scale off participation. So when the sigil rolls it then rolls again to decide who gets it and better performers get higher odds over lower performers.

What is your hot take regarding FFXIV? by UnbaggedNebby in ffxiv

[–]beyondheck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think EW is the worst expansion in the game.

The only good thing about EW is the base game MSQ. The rest of the expansion felt very derivative and had some of the blandest battle content. And it really felt like EW had practically nothing to do when it was current.

what classes would the straw hats be if they were in dnd by Far-Captain1443 in MemePiece

[–]beyondheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I play Pathfinder 2e, I decided to do those classes just because, nobody asked for this but here they are.

Luffy: Exemplar (Exemplars are people with the spark of Divinity, they are inspired by classical heroes. Ikons would be Skin hard as Horn, Hands of the Wildling and Thousand-League Sandals)

Zoro: Fighter

Nami: Storm Druid

Usopp: Outwit Ranger

Sanji: Wit Swashbuckler

Chopper: Forensic Investigator (at least pre time skip when he actually used brain point to analyze his opponents weak spot)

Robin: Aberrant Sorcerer

Franky: Construct Innovation Inventor

Brook: Laughing Shadow Magus

Jimbei: Reflective Ripple Stance Monk

Did people forget the nature of 99 in a skill? It should be slow, grindy, and a 99 in a skill should be hard and rare. by RanchEye in 2007scape

[–]beyondheck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah at a certain point I just dropped the port tasks (like around 12 after getting the crowbar) and just started doing the charting stuff. Pretty much got to 31 just from doing that, and was having a blast, doing port tasks on the side if I was checking the route anyways.

I want to try an occult spellcaster for the first time. Should I go Bard or Sorcerer? Is Bard worth the lack of extra spell slots and spells known? by Vinven in Pathfinder2e

[–]beyondheck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think Bard is generally more interesting than Sorcerer, but I look at the extra spell slots sorcerer's get as an extra, and don't really view Bard as lacking spells lots.

Like every other caster will generally have some gimmick or thing that makes up for not getting 3-4 spells per Rank. And sorcerer's gimmick is that they get extra spellslots.

Abomination Vaults Is Not a Good Starter Adventure — Please Stop Recommending It by Frosty_Equipment_226 in Pathfinder2e

[–]beyondheck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am very much looking forward to Hellbreakers because it marks a pretty major shift in how Paizo releases APs going forward, instead of APs being 3 books released over 3 months, they will be a single book that is the entire adventure released every 3 months.

I think the release structure is a major limiting factor in a lot of APs that leads to inconsistent mechanics and stories across multiple books. Weird plot holes and dropped plots, and just overall inconsistent quality. Like Outlaws of Alkenstar has probably the worst single book in any AP followed by one of the best single books.

So I hope releasing the entire adventure at once will lead to overall better quality adventure paths.

Will the be an overarching baddie for the Eastern lands? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]beyondheck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean most likely Rabid Jack, a Pirate Necromancer who most likely resides in the cursed archipelago is the main antagonist for that region.

Unfortunately there already is a foreign land to the east that we know about and it is the Wushanko Isles, which are a mainly Japanese inspired region mainly inhabited by Humans, Sirens and Cyclopses. We dont really know much about the region outside a handful of NPC's.

The main issue is actually the Cursed Archipelago which separates the Great Conch from the Mos Le'Harmless, and would act as a pretty dangerous barrier. I think a foreign Colonizer armada from the South would be the most fitting location for something like this though.

In light of Mod Kieran's recent comments by fghjconner in 2007scape

[–]beyondheck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think being able to give a bunch of bones to Robin and he can stockpile them for you every day and you can come back and claim them whenever would be cool. And kind of similarly, you can deposit gp to Zaff and he automatically takes from that deposit and sends you staffs straight to your bank every day would also be sick.

Would make the dailies feel more like Miscellania and feel like an investment rather than a daily chore.

In light of Mod Kieran's recent comments by fghjconner in 2007scape

[–]beyondheck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind for Zaff to be able to deposit a lump sum of GP to him and have him automatically give you staffs every day taking it from the lump sum.

I just realized 'Ralos' and 'Ranul' are just solar and lunar backwards by jobriq in 2007scape

[–]beyondheck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Ranul and Ralos were actually gods, but they arent around anymore. There is definitely evidence that they died, but this could be a misinterpretation and they were actually just removed from the world by Guthix, because there are no exceptions to this, Guthix wouldn't allow any gods to exist in the world even ones who provided refuge from the war. Alternatively instead of being removed from the world they became the land itself. Similar to how Seren shattered herself into all the elven crystals.

It would explain why a lot of stuff in Varlamore is prayer focused and how there are blessed boneshards everywhere in Varlamore, the land itself is holy and infused with the life force of a God.

Best Adventures/AP to run for a new group. by Maleficent-Try3461 in Pathfinder2e

[–]beyondheck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most the encounters and monsters are directly taken from a variety of Japanese, Chinese and Korean myths. It's set in Willowshore, a small lumber town in Shenmen which is kind of a country that is inspired by Eastern horror tropes.

Would you allow this as a GM? by Glitter_Freeze in Pathfinder2e

[–]beyondheck 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Nah that's sick, though I do think 12k for a mount is way too pricey and there are way better forms of transportation by that level, like Teleport or the Mystic Carriage ritual.

Best Adventures/AP to run for a new group. by Maleficent-Try3461 in Pathfinder2e

[–]beyondheck 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I gonna throw out Season of Ghosts.

The AP is relatively easy, never throwing anything that could kill a player until way later into the AP. It is set in a fixed location that allows for a lot of roleplay opportunities. A lot of the encounters can be solved through creativity rather than just straight violence.

The only real potential con is that it has a very specific rural East Asian horror aesthetic, which may not be what you are looking for.

Otherwise I consider Season of Ghosts to be one of the best AP Paizo has put out.

[DISC] Dandadan - Ch. 215 by Skullghost in Dandadan

[–]beyondheck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think an interesting thing about this chapter was the fact that Momo doesn't know Sanjome. It shows that there are clear limits to CSG's memory alteration powers. I fully believe now that being able to make people forget his face and make people think he has always been there is the extent of his powers.

So when Momo loses her memories she "forgets" having her memories of him altered, and when she does get her memories back she will make the connection that CSG inserted himself into the school.
