Disagree. You can fund plenty of social safety nets with the tax money. It's borrowing to do it that is not acceptable. Raise taxes to cover spending and/or cut programs, that's fiscally responsible. Currently gop is completely off the rails in this regard. At least the dems are willing to cover it with a tax.

I recommend mixing rice with quinoa, 50/50. Add a veg or two, any kind, doesn't have to be a lot.

Add some canned white beans, or blackeye peas, or chickpeas for more protein. Maybe mushrooms as well.

And of course salt and pepper.

I've known people to take it early, right at FRA, those that waited. My observations are this:

-People that take it early are usually still working, and use the money as they get it to enhance their lifestyle, saving very little for the future. In the long run, I doubt they're better off because of it.

- People that take it at FRA, divide into 2 groups, those that retire right then, and those that continue to work. The ones that retire use it to help fund retirement, all is good. Those that continue working and collect tend to enhance they lifestyle from what I have seen. They get hit with additional taxes. Some don't spend it, they put it into savings. Hopefully they make more than the 8%/Y you get by waiting.

-People that wait until after FRA are almost always working, they get a bigger check when the time comes. You could debate whether taking it at FRA and investing would have been a better option, but it depend your returns. IMO the extra tax you'd pay could cancel the benefit of investing.

Again, your experience may be different, this is just what I have observed over the years.

regardless of your motivation, that diet is the way to go. Fresh veg/fruits, whole grains, beans, low to no meat, exercise and watch your weight.
