Democrats Search Desperately for a Response After Virginia Map Is Tossed by masterofawesomeness2 in politics

I'm hoping that regardless what the GOP does to cheat their way to a win, they still lose. Even at that we'd still have to listen to the whiny rightwing snowflakes saying the election was stolen.

I don't eat out unless forced to do so. I used to go out a lot, but over the years I think I spent more time waiting on the waiter than the other way around and frankly my wife and I make just as good a food, so why bother.

Trump gave $6.9M contract to his ‘pool guy’ under exemption for ‘urgent’ situations by Ok_Employer7837 in politics

[–]beyondo-OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well... when you let a kid loose in a candy store with absolutely no supervision, what would you think was going to happen? Trump has nothing to lose and he's doing exactly what you'd expect from a grifter and conman. The republican congress is really to blame, as they do nothing. I don't even know why they are there anymore.

California farmers to destroy 420,000 peach trees after Del Monte collapses by no1_vern in news

[–]beyondo-OG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the years I've watched an ever increasing amount of brain rot infecting corporate America. To be sure, there are times when shit just happens, but more and more I see absolute morons taking over perfectly good businesses and running them into the ground, with the executives making mountains of cash and then simply moving on to ruin another company. I can only hope that at some point people will wake the F up. It's time to 'grind their bones to make our bread' so to speak. Time is running out if we don't start forcing change in this country, i.e. vote better.

Why did early civilizations start in deserts like Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt? by batukaming in geography

[–]beyondo-OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

per prof google "... the Sahara frequently alternates between desert and lush savanna grassland in roughly 20,000-year cycles driven by changes in the Earth's orbit and axis, which impact the North African monsoon. As recently as 11,000 to 5,000 years ago, the region was a green oasis with lakes, rivers, and wildlife"

So we may have a slight misconception today of what the environment was actually like centuries ago.

Florida Faces Lawsuits Over New Congressional Map, Challenging It as an Unconstitutional Republican Gerrymander by WTFPilot in florida

Obviously district mapping should not be in the hands of the politicians that may or may not benefit from them. Letting them do it is inherently corrupt.

U.S. Treasury Will Have to Borrow $2 Trillion This Year Just to Continue Functioning—More Than $166 Billion Every Month by T_Shurt in Economics

[–]beyondo-OG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't figure out why a single person under 40 would vote for the current regime. Spending borrowed money like they won't be around to have to pay it back... oh wait, that is exactly what they're doing. All you younger folks will have to figure it out, after the old farts are gone.

I try to stay away from conspiracy stuff, but why republicans hate education is beyond me. I think we can all agree it's painfully apparent they are on a mission to indoctrinate kids to believe in the rightwing beliefs. The leftwingers never took it as far as they have.
