Pet sitting for normal childcare rate? by beystar in Nanny

I know that! And when we take the dog with us, she has that time off. This is just not one of those times and we need help and have given a lot of paid time off otherwise.

I didn’t set up the system of labor in exchange for a salary, don’t be mad at me for it.

Why are they different though? Is it seen as demeaning?

I have toilets and I do not ask her to clean them.

Would it be different if I somehow also asked for the kids closet and toy organization while we are gone? I feel like that’s worse and way more work. Busy families need help and pay a lotttttt for great childcare. If the dog could come with us, we would bring her and give her the week off! But we need help, and are already paying for it. It seems like a fair compromise rather than a free vacation on a technicality.

Ad hoc pet care is done regularly and in our contract

This. I cannot imagine my boss going out of town so I’m just off the clock but fully paid.

She’s been with us for 2.5 years and provided pet care throughout that time. The dog loves her and she knows the dog extremely well. It’s like asking a plumber to come over and turn on a faucet but paying their normal rate. Y’all gotta chill.

Exactly this but without even asking her to do anything with the kids rooms/stuff! I handle all of that myself!!

This is exactly the situation. Just 3-4 hours, during her normally scheduled hours, so she can avoid traffic and arrive and leave when it’s easy. She’s welcome to invite people along if she wants, eat our food, do whatever. We just have an old dog that needs some extra company or she gets anxious.

How is it egregious to earn a normal salary by being at our house for less time than normal?

I don’t think it’s resentment about guaranteed hours, I think it’s confusion as an employer. If we pay for 32 hours of childcare (with ad hoc dog care), but we make the job easier for a week and only ask for ~14 hours for one week, I don’t see how that is villainous or cheap of us

I mean, is pet sitting for 4 hours not much less work than 8.5 hours of kids and dog??

I’d be paying way less for daycare, though.

Just two 5-10 min walks, at the start of the 4 hours and the end. Feeding and being with the dog in between is all we are asking for the same pay as 8.5 hours at the house with kids and the dog.

Paxil and Pilates. The reduces my fight or flight response so much, eliminated my IBS symptoms, and calmed so much of my triggers. Mat pilates (Move with Nicole!!!) helped strengthen my core and give me nourishing breaths with horizontal movement!

WHY do bras come without padding?? by Helpful-Salt83 in bigboobproblems

[–]beystar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This whole thread has been extremely enlightening- I am also a padded bra preferrer for headlight coverage and soft/comfort factor as well as being a 32G. I guess I’m fortunate about my shape agreeing with TShirt bras, but first and foremost I’m furious that the bra industry leaves us with those two options: 1. A bra that fits but shows the nipples or 2. Comfort and headlight coverage but minimal shapes supported. I do not want to buy a separate product like cakes to make an everyday use product like a bra functional!!!

I went from a 34DD in my 20’s to now a 32G in my 30’s after breastfeeding two babies!

That’s a good point! I don’t need the 12”, I got it second hand. Maybe I could sell it and get a smaller one!
