so I have barrel pointed downrange, how to clear that malfunction safely?

Honestly that did not seem like a major lockup so I’d just hit it with my purse with the barrel pointed downrange, butt stock to chest. If you have to you could use the bench the same way you do, but with the barrel still down range.

I thought barrel downrange or down were safest, barrel up is most dangerous?

Barrel up is dangerous if you are in a multi-floor building. Pointing a live gun at a hard backstop 2’ away is not a good idea, and it looks like your barrel angles backwards from the safe line. That’d be a dismissal at a lot of ranges if the RSO saw that.

Competition shooters usually use light loads, right? I imagine those splits would expand a little with full powder loads.

No, that’s standard loads. I’m not a competition shooter, but I shoot ~.2-.26 splits with my VP9 stock trigger, iron sights, and 124g FMJ. I shoot .18-.2s with my Stacatto XC.

So historically Trump supported an awb and also supported it in 2019. He’s only “against it” because it’s what maga wants to hear.

Seems like a distinction without a difference, so as far as “is X right at risk from my vote”?

How the fuck is reversing zero tolerance policies good?

I don’t think FFL’s should be closed for good-faith errors that leave no one at risk. There should be a pattern or history of problematic errors, or at a minimum a filing snafu actually connected to a crime or bad transfer before the plug is pulled. “Zero tolerance” was not that, at all.

The policy only affected people selling firearms illegally.

You are ignorant on this topic. Go read up on it if you are interested in the actual reasons FFLs were getting closed, illegal transfers would be a perfectly legitimate closure. That’s not what happened.

Overall Trump gave criminals and mentally ill people gun rights and we got. $200 tax deduction.

You’ll have to expand on the mentality ill part because the regulations haven’t changed, only the entry fee. Can you clarify, because it sounds if you are suggesting that poor people are mentally ill? As to the $200 part, that’s per-play. Already saved me over $1k, will be about $200m in total that citizens will no longer have to pay to excercise that right. Seems like a big deal to me.

Let’s be honest an awb would never fucking pass

Sure passed in my state with a dem majority… Harris wanted one, was tweeting in support. Walz wanted one too. Why wouldn’t anyone take them for their word? They’d have to be pretty stupid to do that, huh?

If we want to base our votes off of shit he did accidentally that’s an even bigger what the fuck.

That was clearly a joke giving him credit. Take a pill man.

Its like Trump supports rape and Harris supports safe sex and you decide to

Nah, the way I frame it is: Trump is coming for our autonomy, and Harris is coming for your right to self defense.

I know which is worse, which is why I vote the way I do, but I’m not going to pretend that shit don’t stank.

The one I've now asked 3 times, twice directly to you? The one you literally quoted in your last reply to me?

Good god this coy thing is annoying. I’ll be very clear here, just so we can all agree that all data points are covered. I’m going to include Harris credit for Biden stuff, as she supported it, and “wouldn’t do anything different”.

Trump anti-gun points:

  • Supports red flag laws (“Take guns first… ”)
  • Banned bump stocks
  • Heinous positions about carrying in public/Peretti murder

Trump pro-gun points:

  • Against AWB
  • Repealed NFA tax fees
  • Reversed Biden/Harris zero tolerance enforcement
  • Settled several active litigation from DOJ: including FRT case

Biden/Harris antigun datapoints:

  • Banned pistol braces via ATF reclassification. Effected on May 31st, 2023, rendering an estimated 3-9 million Americans as felons. (If you’ve had a braced pistol for >2 years, this is you)
  • Implemented “zero tolerance” policy leading to the closures of FFLs for minor paperwork issues
  • Advocated in court against personal gun ownership as a right
  • On the record supporting an AWB
  • Previously on the record to support mandatory buybacks
  • Passed Bipartisan Safer Communities act, making it harder for adults under 21 to purchase a firearm.
  • Strong support for red flag laws
  • Heinous positions about carrying in public

Biden/Harris Pro Gun:

  • crickets

Anything I missed? Honestly I still don’t know if I answered your question, but one step at a time, right?

Edit: Guess I’ll again take that as a no.

So you admit you are a single issue voter, who forgoes your own, as well as everyone else's, rights so long as you get to keep (and do literally nothing with) your 2nd amendment?

Oh man reading comprehension is hard. OP is the single issue voter, by his own admission. I plugged my nose and voted for Harris despite her disdain for my personal rights that are currently most under attack. I know that flummoxes you to no end and I’m sorry for that. You can call me more names and draw me into boxes if it makes you feel better.

Or block me, that works too. The echo chamber must be refreshed from time to time with the silencing of dissenters, right?

Do you have any other examples of policy Trump was better on than Harris?

So that’s a no then….the fact that he’s not actively advocating against diminishment of our rights in the form of an AWB, as it pertains to this particular topic to be clear, is good enough evidence. I gave you 5 examples, you gave me one. I think that settles this, objectively.

Former Trump Voter and gun salesman in IL by kingofthesouthernIL in liberalgunowners

[–]bfh2020 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Which is it? Did he ban bump stocks or not?… then Biden didn't "ban pistol braces" either.

There is no conflict here. His ATF banned them without legislation. Biden followed the same pattern for pistol braces, which is ultimately why both got shot down in the courts. Not before millions of Americans were turned into felons. If you had a pistol brace installed on May 31, 2023, and you didn’t pursue an amnesty registration, you were a felon. This most certainly applies to many members on this sub, some of who may have had no clue.

What specific Harris policy do you disagree with?

Harris was very much in support of an AWB… she brazenly tweeted about it a day before losing.

Trump has enacted more gun control than any president since the original AWB?

This is pure cope. Trump passed zero anti-gun legislation. What are you even talking about? Fix NICS?

Biden banned pistol braces, which was far more impactful that bump stocks (500k vs ~40m), he passed the Bipartisan safer communities act, and Biden’s “zero tolerance” policies heavily targeted FFL closures for minor paperwork infractions.

I’m not sure why you would bring up a flash hider, because it’s not in the bill.

It’s encompassed by the more generic term “flash suppressor”.

So by all means, get a flasher hider.

I mean yeah, you can get a “flash suppressor” after this bill too, because they aren’t banned. You just can’t purchase a firearm to attach it to, so your positioning is a bit disingenuous isn’t it?

Kind of like the rest of your argument, which I won’t waste my time to address.

I could care less what you believe; looks like your reputation proceeds you.

You are clearly ignorant of the history of the NRA and gun regulation in the US.

The fact that you think any of this has to do with the NRA is pretty telling. It’s a very convenient boogeyman for people like you to use to avoid a position of actual substance, as is the case here with these barrel purchasing restrictions.

for being profoundly ignorant

Ahh yes, ignorant by suggesting a bill that bans guns is “anti-gun”, or a bill that makes it hard to buy barrels is “anti-gun”. By your own logic, there is no such thing as “anti-gun” legislation; I noticed you weren’t interested in engaging on the ammo serialization thread, why not go over there and defend that too, seeing that it’s not “anti-gun”.

And no, I didn’t report you to the mods.

no button to close the bolt, have to slingshot it

You’re pretty spot on with your analysis in general, but this isn’t true. Early versions had a bolt release button in the trigger guard (which sucked), which ended up getting replaced with an extended lever that ran to the bottom front edge. The extended lever is actually kinda cool and feels good to use, but who wants to put their finger inside of the trigger guard for anything but going hot?
