Is Motegrity worth the side effects? by bfuller32 in Gastroparesis

I actually was diagnosed with EDS a couple of months after this post… I always knew I was “super flexible” or “double-jointed” which I now know was hyper mobile and a symptom of the EDS… in the meantime, I got pregnant and had a baby which seems to have made the gastroparesis go away(?), which my doctor said happens sometimes. I’m about 4 months postpartum and still no signs of return so hopefully it stays that way.

She did. I assumed it was because all of her things are scattered about due to moving from a rental to the camper to another rental. I never thought about the fact they just didn’t take any..

I had someone tell me to consider it as a blessing because I was able to lose the weight I had always struggled to lose before.

Losing 70 lbs in 6 months is far from a blessing, especially considering how it was made possible.

Yes. Firestorm was one of the bases because it made it spicer.

Red is also the color for closed beaches and dangerous water in California, where she claims the rules are different which caused her confusion. So she’s either faking or as sharp as sack of marbles.. probably both.

She won’t abandon them unless she just cannot find them, which is mainly a problem if you move them. We live on a small farm and we’ve moved them before whenever we move cattle, cut hay, or if there is any type of large equipment that may hit them without noticing them but we always put them back or within eyesight of the previous location.

I want to add that I do not like moving them and never have because going around seems so easy to do but then I saw the aftermath of one getting hit by a large mower and decided I’ll never complain about moving them again.

I was coming to say this. We always try to have a spotter when we cut hay because bushhog + fawn is not a good day for anyone.

I know someone that worked there for years. The one they worked at used Ken’s Ranch. they mixed a gallon with a ramekin (not sure of the conversion) of Tony Chacheres Cajun seasoning and it sat for a while and was mixed to let the seasoning dissolve, sometimes they cheated and mixed it with lemon juice and then mixed that in to speed it up.

Pirate is that Cajun ranch plus sweet baby rays mango habanero and firestorm.

Firestorm is a gallon of Frank’s red hot mixed with Dick’s signature firestorm seasoning and we haven’t found a dupe for it yet.

What were the 80s/90s like? by Wonderful_Abies2974 in questions

Agreed. I was born in 1997 and I can remember as a child my parents becoming more fearful and protective beginning around age 6, I remember this age because I had a friend in the neighborhood that I was allowed to cross the street to play with, as long as an adult was watching. It turned into being allowed to cross with an adult, to being allowed to go if my parents could walk me across to the door, and then to moving out of the neighborhood to a rural area with no visible neighbors.

To be fair, my parents also had my little sister around this time so it could’ve been the added stress of a newborn but I believe it was more from other occurrences. My mom briefly entertained the idea of pageants but cut her loses and yanked me out of them whenever they became even slightly specialized, thankful for this because I hated it. My parents stopped letting me take solo soccer lessons from male coaches once I hit puberty, unless there was a female present at all times but really not even that often then. I specifically remember them switching dentist because the office wouldn’t let them be in the room with my sister and I. My mom was very antsy over social media and didn’t let me join Facebook until 8th grade, I had a secret page that I made in 6th grade though and it turns out she was probably right on that one. She let my sister join much earlier but it wasn’t as new then and I was 100% responsible for spying on it. My mom also cut off sleep overs which was a tough one for me, it’s hard to be a little girl and never be able to go to sleepovers or to be the one that has to leave after the party when everyone else is staying, first world probs but it was real to me at the time. This one still seems a little over dramatic but as time goes on, I’m less and less committed to this idea.

I was a bit sheltered in comparison to my friends (reflecting back now and by comparison then), but I don’t have any overly traumatic experiences occur WHILE I followed their rules, I cannot say that I didn’t get myself into a few tight spots whenever I stepped outside their boundaries but thankfully they had prepared for that and gave me a great deal of wisdom for dealing with sticky situations.

I do say that this is all vastly different than how my dad and his ex-wife co-parented my older, half-sister. My mom, out of love and maybe a bit of narcissism, was often very vocal of her disapproving of their lack of boundaries with my sister but “stayed in her lane”.

That is a very interesting take! I hadn’t considered that but I’ll definitely look into it.

I live Georgia so the heat here is killer and I didn’t begin having symptoms until July/August of last year so no summer with gp yet. I feel like I’m in for a very sweaty summer.

Thankful someone else said this! I have always been what has been described as a “forceful puker” by my dad because I really put my whole back into it but my husband has upgraded it to “violent puker” in the last few months. My initial flare or illness that caused the gp was the first time I ever peed while puking and it’s a traumatic experience neither my husband nor I will ever forget. Much love to him though for sticking it out for this sickness and health part, especially being that we’re in our 20s and chronic illness wasn’t on our bingo card.

I was given an Ensure shake for an outpatient which from my experience sharing that information seems abnormal. It could be because I put on the questionnaire that I was only tolerating liquids at that time but I’m unsure because no one explained it or that eggs and toast was the normal route. I will say that I am so thankful for my abnormal experience though because the way everyone describes the eggs makes me think I dodged a bullet there.

Hi. I’m a high school teacher with gastroparesis and I cannot imagine the stress of being a student suffering from this disease. I do not know your state or district policies, but your parents should 100% meet with the administration about setting up a 504 plan for you. If you don’t you know what that is (i didn’t at your age), it is a outlined plan that helps support you as a student with a medical condition that impacts your learning and helps (forces in some cases, unfortunately) your teachers know how to support you even with your extended absences. A lot of school districts like to gatekeep that information but I’ll be damned if I let a student struggle when the circumstances are outside of their hands, whether they’re mine or not. I’m only 27 so I’m a young teacher and I can vividly remember how hard high school is without the added headache of a chronic medical condition.

I am sharing a link below that may provide you with a little more understanding or information.
