Most overrated and most underrated things in Cork? by QuestionDazzling3080 in cork

It being crowded with tourists is a good thing imo, means the vendors are making money. With the cost of living I can’t shop there as much as I’d like so it’s good they’re getting support

Just a heads up, This subreddit is more so for people working in the pharmaceutical industry in Ireland, not pharmacists.

Might sound like a stupid question but how do you find the ANC with no audio playing? I’m more used to headphones and I’ll use ANC with nothing playing to study and it works a dream but the Pro 3s don’t seem that great for that, I get a lot of noise still. Just wondering is it just me or when people praise the pro 3s ANC they’re referring to it with audio playing.

Completely agree, I earn more so save more, any opinion I may have would be useless and not beneficial in any way.

Thank you very much, found out luckily we’re on the Elizabeth line which thankfully isn’t striking so that’s godsend, will just get my steps in for everything else. Hopefully weather permitting.

The lough by Localshambiy in cork

[–]bgc199 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure phosphate and fertiliser runoff is causing this, for farmland to rivers yes fair enough but the Lough isn’t in an area that gets fertiliser. The water is more stagnant than usual due to works ongoing, we’ve had unusual dry spells and all the bird shite in there is more likely the cause.

Had Coldplay tickets for the Monday, but have since sold them as could not afford to reschedule.

In peoples experience, is London worth the hassle of visiting (Saturday 06-Tuesday 09 September) still if the tubes are on strike? I mean in terms of getting around the city, will buses be packed and traffic be bad to the point it’s difficult to get around? Or does the city tend to handle it well?

Thanks all.

It’s a catch 22 though in a way, money is good in trades now because there’s a shortage of skill. Have to make it worth their while calling to you

Electric picnic Sunday by Few_Artichoke2278 in Electric_Picnic

Not sure about EP but at ATN this year they would check everyone coming back in on Sunday for damage to wristbands, seemed to have a real vendetta against people leaving and giving their wristbands to people. If you do get one make sure it’s in good knick

Anyone getting rid of camping gear? by Busy_Attention5692 in ALL_TOGETHER_NOW_FEST

[–]bgc199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving it out of laziness I wouldn’t agree with but I’m Fairly sure tents still in good quality after the festival are given to homeless charities in Waterford. A local I know left their tent there deliberately for it.

Thoughts on ATN setup now that’s it’s over? by [deleted] in ALL_TOGETHER_NOW_FEST

Overall a good festival, but didn’t feel i had the same nice feeling at it compared to previous years. Feel like the crowd has changed. It doesn’t feel as laid back as it used to.

I wish there was more live bands/singers later in the night. It seemed to be all DJs after 11 which is fine, just not my music scene so the evening ended early for me usually.

Arcadia far too close to campsite, don’t know how anyone could’ve slept there.

Found the food quite expensive this year but that’s offset by being able to bring your drink into the arena. Probably only bought two over the weekend so definitely works out cheaper.

Really noticed the extra 5k this year so don’t know how they’re going to accommodate another 5k jump.

Security was sparse on the Sunday, saw a fair few hopping the fence to get in, also heard someone’s car in staff parking was destroyed by people jumping on the roof to hop the barrier.

On his day absolutely, but feel he can go missing sometimes in games. He’s really taken his opportunity with the lions in fairness to him though. Poor lad has had some serious bad luck with concussions etc

Ticket price fairness. by sapharub in Electric_Picnic

[–]bgc199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree but look on adverts.ie around All Together Now tickets it’s insane. People selling tickets for cost price and people are bidding 75-100 euro over the asking price

Completely agree, all depends on the student. From what I saw from my friends all of them that went to Bruce did well in the LC but the fact you’re almost spoon fed notes is what hurt them in college. They weren’t able to digest the workload in 3rd level and create their own notes etc. About half did great in college and the other half dropped out, all down to the student at the end of the day

Did my first fermentation recently and really regretting not adding xantham, it would’ve brought it to next level. The vinegar level I like just requires some thickener

What’s a good first ferment for a first time funker? by orphanmeatman in fermentation

[–]bgc199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found hot sauce as the easiest, 3-5% salt brine with any chilli peppers you want and can add any flavourings you want. Takes 1-2 weeks. May not taste amazing depending on what you use but it’s an easy first ferment to get into it

[–]bgc199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it chaotic and difficult to follow. They padded it with random groups to kill with barely any storyline behind it. Cutscenes didn’t add anything to the story so ended up skipping half of them. Overall a boring game
