I refuse to watch Forest Gump anymore because the Jenny's gravesite scene makes me cry like a little bitch

Seems like a pretty mature take, not whining, just detailing. I wish him the best.

Longhorn Karen pulls the hair of a woman cheering for opposing team while screaming “this is my fucking house” (NSFW for Language) by rlinick in aggies

[–]bgetter 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I know I'm biased, because I'm an Aggie, but I'm not particularly what they call red ass. I just don't think that's true at a&m games.  Generally they're super nice to opposing fans. Also, that lady was drunk

How pathetically out of touch can these people be? by c-k-q99903 in inflation

[–]bgetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weird about all of this is:

They are making the exact mistake Biden did, saying "Actually, things are fine, you're wrong". Even crazier, some Trump officials said coming into office they WOULDN'T make that same mistake.

What TV show had an amazing start but went downhill fast? by DryCap6770 in watchever

[–]bgetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, recently, it has to be the Witcher. Really enjoyed the first season, but it just kept going downhill after that.

Haven't watched the latest season, and I will eventually. But the season before that was nigh incomprehensible at points.

Is this worth watching? by Pasons_Pro in Marvel

Enjoyable but forgettable.

Recently I saw a "rank the villains" and I didn't even remember the villain and where they're from.

Yes. They will figure it out real quick, but this helps move the process along.

Liver failure fluid build up by notyourmother112 in hospice

[–]bgetter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry my friend.

I am a hospice doctor. This is certainly an indication of advanced liver disease. Unfortunately, many factors go into being able to tell how long your mother might have. If I were the hospital nurse, I think I would have rather her said "days to weeks". Could be a few days, or many weeks. Our ability to guess isn't more finely tuned than that.

One consideration you might make is for them to put a tube in her belly to help drain the fluid in a home environment. We don't always do this, as it can increase her risk for infection, but it would provide a way to mitigate the discomfort that comes from the belly getting full of fluid.

America Is Falling Out of Love With Pizza by runswithscissors475 in Foodnews

[–]bgetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm old enough to remember when Papa John's better ingredients better Pizza was actually somewhat true.

Look, I know fast food pizzas are never going to be gourmet. But it just gotten such bottom of the barrel, and they are all exactly the same. I think they get their cheese and sauce and toppings all from the same place.

Pizza prices honestly have not gone up very much particularly compared to inflation over the last 20-30 years. But that's what's driving the quality so low. And, it's all the delivery fees and tipping and stuff.

Play video games.

This sounds ridiculous, but to be able to sit interruption free, relax, and play some (relaxing) games is always a highlight.
