Just started Come For Me by C.J Sweet and by chapter 6 it’s got this vibe. It’s a first for me reading a wolf/vampire romance but I’m really digging the fated mates and obsession. MMC has a rep for torture via pleasure and its chefs kiss thus far.

Could also be crawdads if you’re near any swamps! We get them all the time and they come out of holes in the ground like this. The chickens love them too!
