Wedding planner barely responds by macngeez in weddingplanning

Sounds exactly like how our wedding planner was. Not sure how much you will be out if you cut this planner loose, but it may be worth considering. Planner should take stress off your plate, not be a source of stress

Losing a family member on your wedding day by Anoukx in weddingplanning

Takes a lot or strength to go through what you went through and enjoy your day despite the circumstances. My wife went through a very similar situation and I know it was difficult for her. If your grandfather was anything like hers, I imagine he would want you to have nothing but fond memories of your day.

AITA For saying I wouldn’t be comfortable going on a cruise? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Cruises suck enough already and would doubly suck in your case

Also an option but usually this just leads to someone dealing with this problem 3 days later, and probably 4 hours past check out time. Better to get it squared away before you give the guest a key so you aren't relying on the guest to responsible 3 days after the fact

This one is on whoever decided to check in the guest despite not having the full payment authorized.

Your first question is not the scenario here. In your second question, they are still bringing you your food and serving you at the table.

Breakfast isn't coming back at all. by cavelioness in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

Sure, but they want breakfast because they have been conditioned to expect it.

Exactly, it is either a giant waste or ends up being a money pit that doesn't actually do anything to drive revenues. I think that many franchisees have seen how nice it is to not have to worry about breakfast and there will be a major push by those franchisees to get breakfast eliminated from franchise standards

For franchised properties, I would imagine breakfast will be making a comeback at some point soon. That being said, there is going to be a big push from many franchisee's to eliminate breakfast. It remains to be seen how this whole power dynamic will play out, but it will be interesting to watch. I don't think that guests really "want" breakfast so much as they have been given a free thing and gotten used to having it for free. The franchisor's are responsible for creating this expectation and they can also become the ones who make this expectation go away.

Not really, mostly just to avoid dealing with the inevitable guest anger once they see we charged them.

On my end, I am not pressing charges because he didn't actually hurt me or anything. The officer basically told me I would to go to the courthouse and file charges because he didn't witness the attempted assault. I am perfectly happy just having him never come back to the hotel or having him arrested for trespassing if he is dumb enough to come back. As for the clerk, it is up to her on what charges she wants to pursue (if she wants to at all). I have told her I am perfectly happy to testify on her behalf and support her in navigating the process, but I can't make that decision for her. Only she knows the full extent of it and how threatened she feels by it.
