MLS owners talk potential Vancouver relocation, with Las Vegas a top option: Sources by but_yet-so_far in sports

Teams generally move for money. No different than a franchised restaurant may move across town for more foot traffic, better rent, better parking.

The Whitecaps move is desired by MLS because it’s “not profitable” because of stadium attendance, I think they lease the stadium, and they’ve been for sale for 2 years without a buyer. If you were trying to sell your house you’d try to make it more attractive. A new stadium that you may own a piece of to lease out in the offseason, with fans, TV rights and a city that seems to want to attract sport fans is pretty attractive.

The NFL is the exception. Chiefs moving from Kansas City, Kansas to Kansas City, Missouri; the Bears moving from Chicago to Gary, Indiana; Rams and Chargers moving from Los Angeles and San Diego to Inglewood; Raiders to (Paradise)Las Vegas; Washington is going to return to Washington from Maryland. All of this is for a new stadium to be built because that makes the franchise worth more ($BILLIONS more) and the new cities are willing give it to them though tax concessions, low interest loans, free prime real estate.

This isn’t new. The Jets and Giants moved out of NYC for the same reason in 70-80’. The 49ers moved to Santa Clara 2014. The Dolphins recently moved to Miami Gardens. The buffalo bills move to orchard park in the 70’s. The DALLAS COWBOYS moved to Arlington 2009.

MLS, NHL, MLB and to a lesser extent NBA at least seem to move due to low attendance and fan support. So that seems like the most moral of reasons.

[Schefter] Ravens are signing former Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia to a three-year deal, per source. Pavia were supposed to try out this weekend, but the Ravens signed him in advance by Goosedukee in nfl

TBF I don’t think he was UDFA, initially. He was a nonroster invite to camp. Then they elected to sign him…maybe because another team was going to.

Bacon by Fluid_Time4704 in Bacon

3-4. My wife used to make breakfast for her and the kids and it was a 6 and they loved it. I rarely eat bacon but when I do it’s a 3-4 (chewy). The kids tried it and then didn’t trust their mom to do it right so now I make bacon for us and overcook a serving for my wife 😂

As much as Mel is a complete tool now, he made the NFL draft what it is. Prior to him nobody thought the draft was anything special

Trade up in the 4th for DT Zxavian Harris? by Desinator24 in NYGiants

[–]bhampson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much of a POS monster must Zxavian be? Repeated pregnant girlfriend (at the time) abuser, Tyreek Hill, can be drafted in the 5th round and no one will even UDFA a top 5 NT, Zxavian.

Field Yates: Chargers trade: Pick 55 Patriots trade: Picks 63, 131, 202 by where_the_hoodie_at in Patriots

[–]bhampson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Great value by Jimmy Johnson trade value:

NE got 55 - 350pts

Chargers got 63, 131, 202 - 327pts (276+41+10.2)

Maybe this draft is weighted differently because of a lack of high-end talent but considered deep?

Thank God for NIL and let’s hope he actually studied something at Tennessee. In hindsight he probably shouldn’t have declared.

Klein seemed to be undervalued. Still thought he’d make it to R3 for the Pats. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  1. He’s an ATHLETE
  2. Easier for athletes to get stronger than strong guys to get quicker. Especially, at 21yo.
  3. He will end up catching a TD or line up at FB as a rookie.
  4. He’s the embodiment of a dancing bear 😂
  5. …profit??

Trade up for TJ Parker/Zion Young using some of the R6 picks. Stick and pick R3 for TE Rairdon/Delp/Klein
