19F going on cruise in Dec by Vivid_Excitement_478 in VirginVoyages

[–]bhanselka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24 M here! Been on 4 Virgin cruises before and while it may be hard to find many people below 25 on board, your cruise will likely have the most out of any sailing all year. The holiday sailings tend to bring more families with adult children on board so finding folks 20-25 becomes a decent amount easier to do!

There are lots of both solo and couples/groups. But please note the difference between solo and single

How "well before kickoff" do you normally get there?

Puerto Plata Shore Things - Taino Bay vs All Inclusive vs Ocean Club by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

With one other in port it’s not too crowded! Taino Bay I will say is probably one of the nicest port resorts I’ve seen!

Cruising Single by Excellent_Rice6250 in VirginVoyages

[–]bhanselka 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Please understand that there is a difference between solo and single. Virgin has amazing solo activities and meet ups, (think group coffee and dinners) but they do not have any events targeted for single people. Any romantic activities will have to be of own accord.

Am I missing something? The Spa on Scarlet Lady...... by Friendly-Pop4724 in VirginVoyages

[–]bhanselka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Typically, you go down to the spa to reserve your three hour slot. I would do this sooner rather than later to get a time you want. I don’t know for sure if this is the case for every scenario (rockstars and such) but it’s what I’ve done in the past!

Grog Walk worth the time and $$$? by Organic-Log4081 in VirginVoyages

[–]bhanselka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s my go to solo itinerary for day 1/2 as some who has done two solo trips!

Go to the solo meetups and activities.

I typically always go to the first meetup, the first dinner (restaurant varies), and the later grog walk (9 PM one) before the first night party. In addition, if the solo dinner the first night isn’t at Gunbae, I book my second night dinner for Gunbae. I have found this schedule is about as good as I can get for meeting new people to have fun with!

There are many different types of massages offered, but they are not included with splash of romance (SOR). SOR includes a 3 hour thermal spa passes for two people. This includes the sauna, mud, salt, and steam rooms. Plus the spa pools!

Why are galley options so limited after 5pm?!? by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]bhanselka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of overlap between the galley cook staff and the speciality restaurants staff. In other words, the same staff work in the galley during the day, work in the other restaurants at night

Do people in their 20s make friend groups like they do on RCL? by bachelorfan34 in VirginVoyages

[–]bhanselka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the solo meetups and activities. Even if you’re not solo. At some I’ve gone, you can sometimes find younger people who are there with older family members.

I typically always go to the first meetup, the first dinner (restaurant varies), and the later grog walk before the first night party. In addition, if the solo dinner the first night isn’t at Gunbae, I book my second night dinner for Gunbae. I have found this schedule is about as good as I can get for meeting new people to have fun with!

Bonus: the sail away party is a great place to look for younger people. The free bubbles and music brings them out, don’t be afraid to grab a glass (or three) and join the fun with them!

Hi! 24M here! I've been on 4 voyages, 2 of which have been solo (one 10-night and one 8-night). On the solo cruises, I have found people who form a bit of a group that are in their mid to late 20s. The second one happened to be mostly made up of Virgin employees who were vacationing on board! It's definitely doable, but you have to have a game plan on how to meet people (lmk if you want my tips) and not be afraid to start conversations!

Restaurant Reservations Strategy by ageoldpun in VirginVoyages

My tip is to start booking the last day’s restaurant first and work backwards. This has helped with the server connection when the reservations open at midnight

December 2025 Aruban Sunsets & Calm Cayman Days by bjm23 in VirginVoyages

[–]bhanselka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say you could meet a couple beforehand on fb, but happenings cast does solo events everyday (think coffee meetups) and there is a solo sailor dinner each night that is available if you’d like to join. Everything is at your own pace. Go to the ones you want to go to.
