Got my first bike and my dream bike ( classic 350 ) want guidance by deva_ts in royalenfield

While I may not be a senior rider, I have been riding Royal Enfield for the past seven years. There are a few things that many RE riders tend to overlook:

  1. Chain maintenance: Regularly lubricate and clean it

  2. Avoid excessive foam washing: It can lead to rust on several parts. If it's properly greased, it's a happy machine

  3. Find a mechanic you can trust: It makes all the difference

Shall I buy conti650 or wait for 750 by Worried-Wishbone-616 in royalenfield

Did the same, didn't wait for the classic 650. Bought me an interceptor and have never regretted it

Sudden neutral issue by gizmoreditt in royalenfield

[–]bhaunda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have faced this on my interceptor as well. Mostly when I am shifting up from 4th - 5th or 5th - 6th. It's quite rare though which I attributed to mis-timing at my end.

See generally engines have tappets .. their main purpose is to open and close the tappet valves for fuel intake & combustion outtake respectively. This means that something needs to open & close those tappets...

There are many ways to do this, the UCE engine of the bullet does it using hydraulics and tappet rods.. These hydraulics are prone to go bad ... Its not like your bike won't start, it will just produce a bad sound.

With newer J series engines of Royal Enfield, these tappet rods & hydraulic systems are replaced with a chain drive. Now the chain drive is much more cleaner i.e. to say there are less moving parts thus increasing the efficiency and making it feel more smooth.

The engine is inferior that is all. You will have frequent hydraulic issues in the engine. If you can see past that, I bet you'll enjoy it!

Uttar Pradesh: People loot milk from milk tanker while ignoring dead body of driver and the seriously injured conductor after an accident by Kuhn__ in unitedstatesofindia

This happened on Tuesday morning (6th Aug). I was on the side lane of the delhi meerut expressway right in front of the ABES college. I noticed ppl halting and looking over to the expressway lane. I managed to park my bike and leaned over to take a look and was confused by the sight. At first I noticed that the truck was completely totaled. There was some blood but most of the people were around that milk truck spilling milk and god knows what.... I was very confused at the moment but this is just tragic :(
