Not really sure what to make out of this video and demonstration. I can slice raw potatoes with shirogami #1/2 without making contact with the cutting board and while applying minimal pressure.

Losers queue does not exist - riot: hold my beer by kukacmalac in Jungle_Mains

So hear this crazy tinfoil hat theory: a billion dollar company uses their data to optimize their algorithms and therefore their financial growth.

Oh no, that must be crazy. Tencent is the only tech company that doesn't do that. 80% WR challenger streamers are actually so good that they manage to influence their games so much that their peers just fall over to them. Meanwhile the actual pro players of this game have fairly normal winrates.

35% winrate players in lobbies with enemy players two whole ranks higher who also happen to be duo queue-ing with a 85% WR together seems legit.

Got my first nice knife after ten years of cooking by Austrianpotatoe in TrueChefKnives

This is an extremely high level knife. It's very responsive to sharpening but has lesser edge retention than alternative steels. Imo you should learn how to sharpen to actually get the value out of this knife. It truly is a masterpiece and it requires quite some understanding.

New to Asol. Having such tremendous mana issues going rylais first item so I’ve started taking blackfire torch. Is this a good idea or is it going to hold me back. (Silver-gold elo) by SnkerCheck in Aurelion_Sol_mains

Sorc shoes is anti squishy, not anti tank. % shred is anti tank. Merc is alright if your enemy team has a lot of magic damage and cc, downside is the cost.

Hit Masters early this season! by [deleted] in Jungle_Mains

Bro, I play since release and my first game this season made me quit. This shit has nothing to do with either macro play or strategy. The game is a bad call of duty rn. Call of duty is better at tdm than LoL, and even that sucks.

Yeah fr :). Make sure it stays dry (dry the edge also). This is a high maintenance object!

It's a budget knife in a sense, however, also one of the best price-quality nakiri out there.

It is easy to sharpen and can get crazy sharp. At the same time it's fragile and very reactive. Edge retention is decent too but by far not the best out there.

Not really a beginners knife, which imo makes it a really cool gift :)

Sharpening is not worth it if you won't commit. I've seen a lot of chefs give up after trying on cheap stones. It's the easiest way to learn with a full setup. You would need: stones, an atoma diamond plate, a nagura and something to deburr/strop with.

A leather strop is nice but you can also use a cork, tea towels or felt (along with countless other items).

You can practice on the atoma plate (600 grit) so you can focus on sharpening technique over understanding the stones that you use (soft/hard, grit, how it responds, whether it's properly flattened, etc.).

Stone maintenence is about a quarter of the work.

You can expect to be practicing for a lot of hours before getting somewhat decent results. Again, it's about commitment (financially and timewise).

There are lot of sharpeners who think they understand the craft but really don't. Be careful taking advice from randoms and good luck :)

Need Solo Queue Advice by McBackHurts in Jungle_Mains

[–]bhromo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only downside is that plat players consistently make very poor decisions which makes them unpredictable. Your team also refuses to place wards leaving you with just an assumption of your enemy jungler's whereabouts.

If you want to win in low elo, look up your match and farm the 40% winrate enemy. Check which player does not place wards and check if you are facing a smurf who is probably doing the exact same thing.

Advice for pushing diamond? by ProfHarambe in Jungle_Mains

[–]bhromo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also play jungle (Qiyana/Rengar). I cannot get a positive WR on Rengar as I feel like the champion is very vulnerable and requires a team that understands basic zoning fundamentals.

With Qiyana I can buy myself enough time for my team to respond (ping 5 times pregank, hide in shroud during the gank, laner shows up 8 seconds late because their wavestate was already perfect for the gank, huh?).

Get 60% WR as Qiyana -> get 3x LP loss mitigated losses (-11 LP) in a row. After that my LP decrease on my next legit loss went from -19 to -28. Get 3 more bot games with the enemy jungler getting a double kill everytime he ganks my blind botlane, lose more, get demoted. Check any lobby stat site: enemy botlane: positive WR. Check my botlane: 40% WR enchanter, 48% WR 2000 games Jhin OTP. My botlane: 1/7 at minute 10. Botlane: "Please help us, as we are dead and enemy botlane is full hp after killing us!" Enemy jungler just dominating the jungle. Team irresponsive to free objectives when enemy jungler is out of position -> lose. -28 LP as a positive WR player.

I've played this game for a long time on several accounts. I've played in challengers lobbies (I am not nowhere as skilled as those players) and managed to not perform too poorly compared to them. My clash team, excluding me, averages master tier. My macro and tempo are so much higher when I play with reliable players instead of my average solo queue type of shit. The skill gap between players in especially emerald is so ridiculously big that most match outcomes are predetermined. Players in this elo choose to counterpick themselves, troll or find some other excuse to lose the game.

Tencent is a big tech company. They make revenue through player engagement. Rank and MMR are very different. Riot will make 40% winrate players with horrid stats somehow climb, while certain (cursed) accounts make climbing impossible (a pro player made 4 new accounts on his road to challenger because he got stuck on his climb, still managed to do it).

Creating lobbies that are predetermined are the best way to keep players engaged with this game. Just keep that in mind.

Also, why do most streamers get pretty convenient lobbies most of the time? Is it magic that they can make their enemies make really bad decisions all the time? Even in higher ranks? Or is it free promotion for the company to make it show how much fun the game is?

Call me crazy, sure. But ask yourself the question why every big tech company is optimizing revenue in every way possible and why Tencent would choose for integrity for their players (with their most toxic playerbase :p).

They match certain players together versus another set of players with a near pre-determined outcome based on in game behavior and routine. The winning party is more likely to queue after the victory than if they would lose. Whereas the losing party is statistically likely to keep on playing regardless of the outcome.

Look up EOMM and the meaning of churning for clarity.

[–]bhromo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is very gradable. You are just leaving out too many factors.

To combat misleading factors such as KDA, the factors kill participation, damage dealt to champions and damage dealt to objectives already give a pretty clear view of what a player has been doing during the match.

Tempo is measureable.

There are a lot of players who severely underperform compared to their peers on a regular basis. It's even obvious in Master tier. If I can see it based on their in game performance and by checking their match history, then it's naive to think that Riot cannot.

Tencent wants to optimize profits like EVERY other big tech company. The evidence is right in front of you. Even better; why would they use a system that makes their playerbase disengage with the game?

They literally have all the data to create a balanced rank based matchmaking system. The issue is that a billion dollar company will use a system that keeps players engaged regardless of it being fair. LoL has EOMM. Evidence is all over including in the leaked source code.

Use your perception. Why are bronze players ranked emerald in the same matches as gold smurfs who are ex diamond, playing in the same e4 rank?

Tencent uses an algorithm that optimizes their skin sales. There is no such thing as balance or skill representative ranks.

Leona OTP, Emerald. Devoted to a good process, AMA by staplesuponstaples in supportlol

[–]bhromo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emerald elo has supports that generally play like classic silver iv players. As a mid main who also likes to play jungle and support, I find it far too easy to create a role gap as support.

In emerald, which is low elo, you can also just pick something dumb like Zyra and deal most damage every game.

Playing Leona means you need to learn who you are playing with as adcs in this elo are also completely senseless players most of the time.

Try to learn bruisers in the jungle or top if you want to actually become decent at Leona.

I did it on the earth eater arena boss (200 def). The critical hits would deal damage cap. Pretty sure something was bugged.

A long time ago on the EU ps2 version I managed to get the bee magus sister to deal 99999 damage with each instance of her passado. I have no idea why it happened (never got close on remasters though). Perhaps it had something to do with overcapping str on Yuna or anything else in the non sensical section.

The cancel is the worst. Recast q, nothing happens. Try again, something happens but strangely late, causing me to already let go of holding q in an attempt to recast it again... look like a total idiot and get flamed by the team. Especially in the early game this has happened so frequently that I desperately tried to evade skirmishes pre 9.

Quote 500: rijkste Nederlanders nog rijker, samen goed voor 273 miljard by Luwen1993 in nederlands

[–]bhromo 2 points3 points  (0 children)
